As much as I like the lad, I'm confident that in 2 or 3 years we'll be saying 'what became of him'. The talents there but the work ethic isn't sadly.

I'm sure Del has a real stamina issue, maybe asthma. I've never seen a professional sportsman get so out of breath so quickly as him, and that includes Bill Werbenuik after 20 pints of Dark Mild and 60 Woodbines running up a hill with his laces tied together.

There isn't a purchase clause is his loan so playing well or not he's still our problem to solve in the summer. Another team saying no to him might see us only get a tiny fee if we sell.

Thing is though, would he even have passed his medical at all the clubs if he had an actual issue with his stamina? Surely that would have put people off.

Such a waste of natural talent. It's not his ability in question, it's either the fitness or the attitude. Find it hard to believe it's attitude as he always comes across as a very down to earth lad. So it must be fitness - which is shocking for someone of his age in his profession. Sad to say, I don't believe he'll ever deliver on the promise. Yet another manager challenging him to improve is the death knell of his Everton career for me.

Mate, my seat is a decent spec not far off the touch line in the Paddock and the times I've seen Geri bent double absolutely gasping for air after one ten yard run is frightening. He's got paper lungs.

Yeh I'm in the paddock too and I've seen it I just think it's weird how in depth medicals are but yet he's passed them all for some massive European teams. Definitely something weird going on with him. Wonder if anyone here has ever seen him play for Spain U21's where he's captain and seen the same thing?

The lad is already a superstar in his head. He is a muti millionaire, and has been treated as such since he was about 13!!!

Its the same excuse we throw at English kids of having it all too soon.
