Granted all not the same squad but some shockers in there (and that's not even all of them). At least he has money to spend.

Perhaps Koeman needed to be a bit more clued up in potential targets vs likelihood of completion.

Possibly so but then the club should of either tried harder to get Koeman's targets or told him they weren't realistic targets and that he should revise his wish list.

Happy to have seen the back of Martinez this year but Koeman has me worried after 6 months !

No doubt we need to move players on but Koeman,s constant changing of the team, personal and his contradictory words on emerging talent, providing contracts to players who need to be moved on must have those at the executive table scratching heads.

I said it when we acquired Koeman that he smacked of a mid table manager on elite management wages and it appears we are going to dip into the market to add acquire a new batch of players this Jan.

Personally, I believe the players not the manager are trying to figure things out in training and on the pitch which is a sign of a team that is disconnected from the management and coaching staff. If Koeman thinks he can buy his way out of his troubles then it wont last long, if you cannot convince your players to buy into your management and coaching methods.

I think the club,s executive team need to keep all options open in the summer that includes bringing in a new manager who not only can identify talent but who can keep them glued together on and off the pitch.

I'm amazed that the reason for the sub was not blindingly obvious to be honest.

It was to change formation and get the full backs pushed right up. A sub of attacker for defender is not always negative and it certainly wasn't to hold on for a point as some are suggesting.

We did feck all with the change because we played crap, but it was still a change to get us more support in attack from the wings.

I mentioned the other day that I keep hearing this but it simply isn't true.

Stekelenburg, funes Mori, holgate, Williams, gana, cleverley, Lennon, bolasie, Deulofeu, DCL, niasse and Valencia have all been brought in since the end of the 14/15 season. That's 11 players. Bring Galloway and Davies into the mix and you could basically put out a balanced side made up of players we've brought into the side over the last 18 months.

Don't get me wrong, many of those players aren't of the required standard, but the idea that we haven't refreshed the squad is a complete fallacy.

Look at the first 11 yesterday.

Robles, jags , baines (Coleman) Barry, Mirallas, lukaku, Barkley, all were here 3 years ago and still make up the team now.

Throw however many squad extras you want at it, first choice defence is still 3 of the 4 from moyes era, Barry still in the team despite his age, lukaku still having the same tactics against him, Ross still not developed and Mirallas probably stagnated from being dropped for 2 years.

Point is, so much of the team is made up of the same players and when you actually look at the last 3 years, how many players have genuinely been signed as first choice players? 3 by my count currently and all Koeman's, with martinez first choice dropped bar rom.

Middlesborough beating United 1-0 now. If we can go into the new year a place and 6 points off the top 6 that's decent going, however poor we've been in some games. If our form had been reversed and we were on our streak from the start of the season we'd mostly all be made up now.

Dave, have you ever thought that we are only playing hoofball because these players are simply not good enough to consistently play the way Koeman actually wants them to? It's called getting the best out of what we've got and unfortunately until we sign new players that's all this crap squad is capable of. I'd argue he's actually done well with the resources he has.

Sacking managers, hiring new ones etc. Will get us nowhere, a gutless, spineless team full of losers is the problem. Not Koeman.

He is a direct ball manager mate. I seen his teams at Feyenoord (big hoof upfield to John Guidetti), and S'ton (big hoof out wide to Tadic/mane and onto a big lump like Pelle in the box).

But what's your point?

In the previous game we had a back 3 of which none were here 3 years ago. If it wasn't for injury that would have been a back 4 with stekelenburg in there too. Gueye is a guaranteed starter, bolasie would be if not injured, Valencia has started 4 of the last 5. Lennon and Deulofeu are seemingly out of favour with this manager but they were bought as first teamers, as was niasse. We have changed the squad significantly and no amount of goalpost moving will change that.

As I said earlier, it's perfectly normal to have the majority of the squad stay the same over 3 years - especially when you're talking about players the quality of lukaku, Coleman and Barkley. I wouldn't want them replaced so I'm not sure why we're suggesting it's bad that they haven't been.

Of course we need to replace certain players, that's obvious. The idea that we should replace the entire squad is a joke though, and if Koeman really needs to do that in order to get performances out of them then he is simply not a good enough manager for this club. Any idiot could get a team winning if they've spent a fortune on hand picked players, a good manager should be able to improve the ones he has, and work out a way of playing that gets the best out of them. Hopefully Koeman will start to do that now.

Koeman inherited one of the three worst squads I can remember in my life time, looking at it I fully expected a relegation battle, in my opinion, this team is over performing relative to the current league position, it will take two windows minimum to have top 5 challenging squad of players, leaving aside any under 21 players, I can see only a maximum of 7 players being with the club, at the end of 17/18 season that is a massive undertaking and will not be easy to replace all those players with the quality to be legitimate challenges.
Patience is needed, you called out for Martinez to be given time which I agreed with you on, yet you are calling for Koeman and Moshiri,s heads
