Barca don't let players of that age leave without buyback regardless. Bojan (who can't get in Stoke's team) has one, it means nothing.

Adama Traore the lad they sold to Villa last season also had the same buyback clause inserted into his contract, this summer he got sold to Boro and Barca didn't bother to activate the buyback clause mate as did Bojan when he left and basically every young player for the past 7-8 years who has left Barcelona, they have utilised such a buyback once ever with Denis Suarez.


The buyback means absolutely nothing about how they rated a player, it is the clubs policy to insert such clauses into any younger players deal upon leaving the club.

Always thought that Guardiola at Bayern - even though he got lauded etc never had Bayern close to how good they looked under Heynckes, that Bayern team was absolutely unbelievable, direct but brilliant and entertaining to watch

The CL that season was one of the few i watched fully mate, they where bloody brilliant, next season they looked insipid in comparision, yet the 'pundits' etc all creamed themselves over how good they looked ... [Poor language removed] bizarre

We don't see what goes on at Finch Farm. The staff, management and players do. There has to be a reason he isn't playing. I've yet to hear a good explanation other than the obvious one.

They made a mistake not doing that with Fabregas and got ultra paranoid and started putting buy back clauses in every departing players' transfer agreement. Since then though I can't recall them exercising said clauses.

Adama Traore had one that Barca had to cancel so he could move to Boro. Barca activated Denis Suarez's buyback clause at the beginning of the season and Real done it with Morata. Buyback clauses, especially with the big clubs in Spain are very common practice.

They were incredible and I don't think any team has come close to emulating that style. Heynckes won them the CL and domestic titles, whereas Guardiola couldn't get the CL.

Martinez got 18 points from the last 19 games last season. He went to into a free fall last December.

Pique they got back for 5m in a buyout so yeah think the fabregas one was the one that made them have a huge rethink on the policy

Just for Suarez from Villareal mate, least thats the only one i can think of that they used.
