Not defending the killings as that would be impossible but people are shaming anyone who wants stronger action by labelling them as racist.

Not the same thing but in the same ball park.
the term apologist by very definition means you are accusing people who don't agree with the actions you prefer of defending the killings, I'm sure both sides want a solution, they just differ on then best way forward, as you don't want to be labeled a racist, other don't want to be accused of defending atrocities

you know full well who the term apologist was being aimed at, and it wasn't anyone who frequents a mosque

No I don't.

Because you didn't use the term 'apologist' in the post I replied to. So who's this 'apologist'?

do you live in fear of everyone becoming a hooligan when you visit a football match because football hooligans are attending the same event as moderate fans ?

I fear neither man nor beast.

No, it's nothing like that at all. Or are you trying to say I support the deportation of all Muslims living in Europe? If you are, then I take back my comment that you're a sound debater.

You haven't, but others have in this thread. There have been comments that Merkel should be jailed because she supported helping Syrian refugees. You've perhaps jumped into a thread without reading the history of it :)

Yeah it's alright for Merkel in her gated community. She'll never suffer the consequences of her pathological altruism.

Those of us who warned of the dangers from the start were called all the names under the sun by the so called tolerant. Unfortunately our concerns have now shown to be correct.
you warrant every name you have been hit with on this site, and so much more

you and I know very well who you were having a dig at

You inferred a dig from the accurate use of a word. Some might say that that was instructive in itself. But it's actually a genuine question.

When do people say enough is enough? After another 1,000 attacks? Like i say, it's a 'trigger' but the question is valid and sincere.

it's in no way accurate, apologist defend a controversial action, the 'liberal' minded as you put may not agree with you that more violence is the answer, or whatever it is you think the answer is, that does not mean they defend the killings, which they would have to do if they were apologists

the only apologists for the killings won't be liberal minded

Well you at least need to recognise how broad of a stroke you paint when you say 'all muslims', it's an absolutely ludicrous assertion to make, if you want to talk about solutions and as you put it the elephant in the room, you are well capable of doing so without stooping to such levels

Fair comment, so let's not use such a broad stroke but still be able to talk about Islam and its influence on extreme ideals.

We need muslims to step up and really condemn these people. Root out the radicalists. Demonise them. Don't get theme elected to positions of power. Don't allow them to preach in mosques. Don't allow them to sully your name with their nefarious street stalls.

Personally I think we need to be able to openly criticise and satirise Islam as we do any other movement. That means Mohammed caricatures and the rest. We need to encourage Muslim women to mix with non-believing men and have agnostic children. We need to encourage apostacy with any fear.

We need to de-sensitise its power over people.

At the same time, the West needs to stop bombing and engaging in poisonous arms deals.

That's a massive stretch mate; theres a massive difference between Extreme Muslims and Muslims, non-Muslims. But the same is to applied to other religions as well. There is always a fanatical side to everything, some follow the religious books and others implement them word for word.

There's always a fanatical side to everything but how many kill at the rate this particular branch of fanaticism does? It's a genuine problem.

Why ? id despise the people who did it but it's not going to make me suddenly start making ridiculous generalizations about a demographic of 1.6 billion people.

Id hate the people who did it and continue to have great relationships with my muslim mates and co workers.

That's not what I've said. I argued from the start that simply letting in those that reach Europe without vetting them and without looking for other solutions would be dangerous and lead to these events.
