Does anyone remember the Sky One series 'Big Ron Manager', the fly on the wall doc on Peterborough? Sky brought in Ron Atkinson as a 'club consultant' and it basically undermined manager Steve Bleasdale in the same way Neville somewhat undermined Phil Power. You could see Power getting sacked a mile off, even if you didn't know ahead of time. He's probably a nice bloke but he didn't match the type they were looking for. Underneath the nice guy stuff, the likes of the Nevilles are ruthlessly ambitious. Gary definitely is.
haha yeah I enjoyed that one, what was the one with barry fry too? that was good

And to be honest, he's a winner, so you can't really say there's too much wrong with that, even if it does grate, and people do get stepped on and discarded. That's how people become winners and get on. Nice guys finish last and all that.
Is that the one where the manager offers everyone out and tells someone to bring their fackin dinner? If so its one of the funniest footy things I've seen on YouTube

I did watch it, and none of them seemed very secure about what will happen in the future.

The old fella who fixed the toilets and built the stand extension started the show deeply suspicious, then did a complete u-turn and said he could see Gary Neville loved the club and wanted what was best.

Anyway, it's a two parter, lets see what they all say at the end of the second and final part next week when the season ends.

No, it's a different one, but I've seen the one you're thinking about and that was very funny too. John Sitton, I think his name was. Absolute nutter. Think he struggled to get another job after that aired.

Some other great fly-on-the-wall football documentaries & clips:

Steve Bleasedale from the Big Ron Manager series, 2006 on Sky:

Peter Reid teamtalks from the Sunderland documentary in 1997 (NSFW, but very funny and one of the inspirations for Mike Bassett):

John Sitton (the daddy! 'Bring ya f'n dinner!' half team talk) from the Channel 4 doc on Leyton Orient in 1995 (Massively NSFW):

BBC documentary on QPR in 1988 (a rare one but a good un'):

Channel 4 documentary on 'That's Football - Swindon Town 1992/93':

Sky's 2005 documentary on Neil Warnock:

Early Warnock, at Shrewsbury in 1995 (NSFW, funny though):

Also, I'm not so sure that FC United would've accepted their money - didn't they tell the TV companies to do one a couple of weeks go on principle.
Yes, they said football should be played at 3 on a Saturday and not changed due to TV demands. They also want football to return to pre-1992... Whatever that is!
