i would have a look at putting him upfront with two fast wingers and barkley behind him, attack with speed. liverpool killed us last night with this tactic.

Kev is not boss.

He was well up for it tonight, and in the derbies in general but where is that ability to cut inside and beat his man, sometimes two men, and cause chaos when we need it in much of the other games?

I still say when you look at his time for us overall he is just a good player, no better than that. I'd love to see that he can give last nights performance on a regular basis like the actual "boss" players do.

It's true that he vanishes far too often, and when he's playing as a winger he's frequently so central that he provides no outlet.

Saying that, the type of performance he gave last night was impressive. Hate to make the comparison, but his attitude was similar to that of Suarez, mixing skill with relentless determination. The problem we have is that only one of the two has that sort of attitude on a rainy night at the Brittania.

Exactly what I meant...thats what seperates actual-Kev from the Kev that some fans seem to think he is when he has one of his random top performances or scores a goal.

Said this from day 1. Knew we would get battered without pace at the back. They got outpaced by suarez FFS

Only one in our squad with the mentality to win a derby. He takes his game to the next level in derbies, what you need to do to win.

Excellent point. He has always shown up and unfortunately been let down by his team mates, or in the case of his first derby, a crude injury-inflicting Suarez tackle.

Felt sorry for him last night. He linked up well with Stones and really had a go. Lacked any options to give the ball to most of the time.

Absolutely the only one who looked like he cared yesterday. Even in the 85th minute with a throw in, he ran to get the ball and was yelling at team mates to come get it. He has been the only consistent performer in the last 4 derbys.

Only complaint is he dribbles with his head down far too often, it's what keeps him from being world class in my opinion.

Still appreciate that he fought hard, and if I remember right I think he had a penalty shout early in the first half
