He's magnificent. Think someone else said this though, sometimes when Baines is playing the majority of the play goes down the left side all the time, limiting Coleman's involvement. Happened at Norwich

Barkley was missing against Norwich - I think that hindered our build up play down the right.

To the guy slating the decision to give Coleman a new contract...

He has performed above and beyond and is improving week by week, excelling at his job. THIS should be rewarded, as you would expect to at your workplace if you was excelling and performing at such a high standard.

It's Roberto's classy way of saying "I recognise your excellence and we value that here at Everton FC, keep it up"

As for Baines, top news if he commits rest of his career to here.

We have such a strong core emerging now.

Different thread but point still remains, dunno how on earth people can get excited about us giving coleman a huge pay rise when we have him under contract till the summer of 2017 already... this improves us how as a club i fail to understand in the slightest, Barkley is under his first professional contract so yeah can understand that being a good thing, gets him under a proper professional rather than youth contract type thing, baines yeah his contract is running out and it stops his value plummeting come the summer, coleman, how is it benefiting the club to be seen as this great news

As martinez had said, its a reward. Maybe as he's been one our top performers Martinez thinks he should be higher up on the wage bill.. Just suggestions. But Martinez has said for loads of times about contracts being rewards.

Why are people even debating about giving Coleman a new contract lets not forget Martinez was once a player, and its martinez FFS, hasn't made too many bad decisions so far has he? But even besides that, Coleman has been boss this season he deserves to be one of the top earners.

....players have to be given improved contracts if their performance goes up a level. They will be aware of offers from elsewhere and are much more likely to stay put if they're paid the going rate Its a players market.
