ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Pointless argument is pointless

Reds saying there signings are boss

Blues saying there crap

And around and around it goes

By that logic why haven't they spent money on 'future' signings as well as ones who aren't currently crap ?

Because the owners won't authorise it after they made another loss on last years accounts and got into even more debt.

Liverpool and Chelsea aren't even comparable in terms of financial backing.

You are right, the financial resources of both clubs are different. And I'd make a very good argument that the likes of Alberto and ilori are 'future' signings as they have barely played so far, whereas the likes of aspas are just purity gash

And I don't see how you can possibly think anything bad of Allen. I can only assume that you haven't seen him play. He is great.

Brennan, goat, I honestly don't know enough about them.

But, I wouldn't swap either of Allen or Coutinho. Here's why. They are both important members of our team. I've made the case in previous posts that Coutinho is vital to our style of play. He might be our most important player. Here's the logic for that claim. We can win without Suarez if Sturridge is playing. And vice versa. Without Coutinho, we are in serious, serious trouble. The encouraging thing is that he hasn't hit the form of last year this season. And look at where we are. If he hits form, we will be in with a real chance of top 4 finish. The obvious reaction to my claim would be 'are you mad, Suarez is the most important player'. He's our best player, without a doubt. But when Coutinho is on the field, Suarez looks unstoppable. Take him off and Suarez doesn't.

As for Allen, everyone said that we would struggle due to Gerrard's injury. Allen allows us to play a high tempo pressing game. You know how effective that can be from your own team. Henderson has received all the plaudits, but Allen has been excellent. A very underrated player. Just watch him. Youll see.

Henderson? What?

Borini looks a bit ****e, but a decent loan spell at Sunderland could probably get a good chunk of that back
Assiadi was £2m or so and probably not on massive wages, so they can probably get that back, maybe even a small profit
Aspas did by all account a have a fair few suitors and wasn't that far off the Spain squad last season, so they could probably get a decent chunk of that back
Alberto has barely played, but I thought he looked decent against spurs, maybe one of those they want to blood slowly into the team?

Anyway, if you want to make these sorts of comparisons you have to take the whole record into account, not just pick and choose ones to suit your agenda, after all I'd say any 'wastage' on those 4 is more than made up by the amounts spent on sturridge, coutinho and mignolet

you're using a lot of if's here mate. if borini does this, if aspas does that etc. Fine, if we're playing that game, if coleman keeps up his good form, real madrid might come in with a £50m bid and we buy some great players i.e. lukaku, we'll get delafeou on another loan and barry will sign permanant, therefore we will have all 3 in our starting line-up for the start of next season, as well as all the good players we're going to buy in january and we'll be title challengers!.

Liverpool will loose their only good player in the summer and if they do exactly what they have done before, they'll spend if all on ****e and be left miles behind. then they'll cry about finances.

IF you get what i mean?

I think I'm finally beginning to understand your issues. Your problem is that money has been spent on players who did not go immediately into the fist team. None of these players are flops. At the very least, the money spent can be recouped (at the very least a chunk). But none of them are leaving.

Look at the transfer fees of Sturridge and Coutinho. They are remarkable value. Remarkable. Suarez missed the first 5 matches of the season. It was those two who kep us near the top of the table.

And I don't see how you can possibly think anything bad of Allen. I can only assume that you haven't seen him play. He is great.

i played against him in a 5-a-side tournament when he was already at swansea and me ad my friends were **** - and he still didn't do anything but pass it sideways ffs

If Madrid sign Coleman for £50m then liverpool won't lose their best player
