I find his methodology very interesting - he basically takes shots in box on target as his major indicator of team strength, and uses that to predict results for the rest of the season.

What it doesn't take into account are things like injuries and squad depth, since those are impossible to quantify. So I figure you can fine tune your own interpretation - for example, you might expect Man City to maintain their rate better than Southampton, and you might expect us to pick up as we figure out our best midfield. Maybe.

Yeah, it's very interesting, and your second paragraph is spot on as well. I kind of wish there were someone doing similar projections but with simpler data (i.e based on TSR and/or SoTR) so we could compare more easily whether the granularity of his analysis makes the predictions better. It's easy enough to find TSR tables, but they don't use simulations like those to give you a perfect sense of what the model is predicting.

Lukaku will be a massive loss but he's hardly been a beast the last few weeks, Its not like we rely on one player to win games unlike another team not so far away

And I don't think you realise how much better your team is with Lukaku in the side. Even if he has an off game, his mere presence changes the way that the opposition defend - both his marker as well as those on your other attackers. He'll probably earn you over 10 points through his contributions. A phenomenal player that you should move heaven and earth to keep.
