Leighton Baines

Lads at the game today- please give him the biggest reception ever!

is right. interesting topic as to whether he'll go down as an everton legend when his career comes to an end. All things considered, he probably should, however, the word is branded around too eagerly these days.

That knobhead has completely unsettled him. Baines must be sick at the moment, watching Fellaini on his new pay deal and talking about playing for the biggest club in he world. A part of him must be thinking his decency in not demanding a move has been used against him (ill bet that was what Moyes was whispering in his ear). We'll do well if he's still playing to the usual standards

Maybe but surely he must think Moyes sold him short too. Would not pay the fee he set on last year, tried to get him to ask for transfer, and poss only want him as understudy to Evra. Who would want that? (Although I suspect he is now trying to build a bridge with Evra!) rubbish by Moyes all summer hahaha.
We love you Bainsey.

And now he's saying he only wanted Baines as cover for Evra  What a tool.

humiliating statement to make towards all people concerned - this man Moyesie is on a mission to make as many enemies as possible - he is doing a great job of that so far - clearly not used to all the attention - thinks everybody will believe every word he says because they believed Sir Alex - but fortunately the most people know the difference between horsesh1t and figs

anyone else think he looked a tad reserved on saturday? Did get over the half way line much, and I cant remember a single trademark Baines cross.

Throw into that a quite awkward interview on Everton tv and to me it would seem he has been truly unsettled. Just my opinion like.

Anyone else notice any of the above?

No, he looked class as always, don't forget is number one job is as a defender, which he did pretty well. Hit the bar with a free kick late on, he's fine.

id have liked a new contract to be signed by now tbh. I cant see Baines as the kind of player that drags these things out worrying about image rights and the like. I know theres gonna be a discussion or two but genuinely i hoped he would have signed by now.

Fingers crossed its on this week.

I think hi attacking threat was limited because of who we played and the way the game panned out, nothing to do with tranfer speculation. We will see his attacking threat against westham.

When should we start getting worried that we have heard nothing about new contract, the only reason for that would be that he has intimated that he wouldn't be signing, I'm not saying this is the case but it was the 2nd time Martinez has gone public to state that the club would be offering him a new one.

He may just hate doing those kinda interviews, i know i would. He is never looked that comfortable when interviewed anyway.

He was away with England for the best part of 2 weeks after window shut. If we get to mid november and nothing is signed, i would be more concerned then
