January Transfer Window 2026

I don’t follow the redshysters and I don’t know much about Mo Salah apart from the fact he knows where the net is.

I would love it if Everton signed him and he started scoring for fun again and helped us get in the top 5 whilst they flounder.
I’m not even sure if/where he would fit in our team tbh. I’d just find it very funny.
Moyes joked about Salah in the Summer about this.

Two overlapping fullbacks would transform this team, it must be our priority.
It really is just that. For all the striker opinions, the first thing I think every game is what could be possible with fullbacks that know how to attack and move off of wingers. In Ndiaye and Grealish we have two players so comfortable on the ball and creative in the seams. Giving them some options to create off of and exploiting overlaps I just think would open that entire end of the pitch.

Im not closing the door on doubts on Barry, or Beto but any best version of this side is an attacking strength on our wingers creativity. Beto Barry at least have eyes to bring in players in build up. At least for January the Christmas list starts for me at Right Back, then Left Back. If a striker comes as well sure. But personally if I was Moyes any business starts with the fullbacks first.

Unless they're a gem save our cash till the summer - January is usually the preserve of desperate buyers.

….if we only signed ‘gems’, we’d be permanently in the top 4. I expect every player is signed in the hope they’ll be a gem but they tend to be few and far between.

I’d imagine Moyes has a couple of priority positions he’d like to strengthen but only if he can bring in players he’s happy to endorse.

You mean someone whos past it, who calls the manager rubbish, tells all of our best players to leave and starts trying to take the training ground sessions behind the managers back?

Its a bold strategy :p
Don't worry, he'd be off to the AFCON so it wouldn't be that bad until the end of January when he decided to come back.

Everton!

Gems are generally quite small arent they?

I have an idea, what if...bear with me here, what if, we signed a few players who are small in stature but actual gems on the pitch and in the squad?

We may even be able to conjure up a nickname for them...

I dont know, perhaps...

The midget gems :o

football league world linking us with Chester born, Coventry CB, Bobby Thomas. seen a few links to CB's recently and its a bit odd, considering we have 4 CB's when everyone's fit. Maybe Keane's issue is long term? Maybe he needs a surgery and we are going to bring in a 5th CB in Jan?

Also side note, the guy interviewed ( Coventry City fan pundit, Chris Deez) describes us as being in a relegation battle! Either he has not looked at the premier league table or he believes anyone from 7th down is in a relegation battle!

I’d say any long-term worry we have is Branthwaite not Keane. Thomas is good though.
