January Transfer Window 2026

….he was ‘shunted out wide’ because KDH came back into the team. If McNeil comes in does a fine job for a game when Ndiaye is unavailable, we’d all expect Ndiaye to come straight back in and understandably so.
Ah, so no point in the players that aren’t Moyes’ favourites “taking their chance” then? I think you might be wise to stop regurgitating that myth if you don’t believe it yourself.

Alcaraz will definitely be on the right when Ndiaye goes

I think if Moyes doesnt use Dibling then CEO and above will be pondering and the fans will be demanding answers.

Not a position Moyes typically has the balls for. Will be blaming anyone but himself or reality.

There is slow burn, and then there is letting the flame burn out.

The longer it goes on Dibling wont be coming into the mix in Afcon, McNeil will be handed the spot.

Moyes will look at the lack of experience/Minutes approach, when it's actually down to him that his minutes have been so few and far between.

Afcon will probably be the big 'eye opening' make or break time for Moyes.

If injuries hit in, and players aren't ready to step in, than everything could blow up.

Moyes will have his neck on the line.

I think in part he was so happy about the united 3pts as hes begun looking at the Dec & Jan run and realised hes messed up the summer.

Thats why hes saying Newcastle are levels above and said their owners spent big money and he hints that TFG should do the same.

I think Dibling will be fine like I stated before Moyes takes forever to fully trust younger talents and is very thorough in making sure they can adapt before giving them a host of chances

This is true.

Absolutely nothing that an average fan wouldn’t know.

Lot of mights and maybes. No named targets.
Boyland never knows anything. Someone will be along shortly to tell me he got one thing right three summers ago so he is some sort of insider but he's just a lift and cover opinion giver like the rest of them. Every article is 1000 words of empty conjecture. I don't know why anyone would subscribe to the Atlantic, it's the Metro with a fancy font.

Orel Mangala made his first appearance as a substitute for Lyon on Sunday night, following recovery from that Knee injury he got in the away game at Brighton last January, instantly being linked with a loan move back to Everton, because Lyon have 8 central midfield players.

I would have him back on loan, gives us another option in there.

It appears that the original priority was acquiring a right back in the Jan window, now we're also looking at procuring a striker. The details of particular players are scant , we looked into toney as a possibility but as of now it would be incredibly challenging and unlikely due to wages and his current club being opposed to his departure.

Branthwaite is expected to return after the new year and they are also weighing up recalling Armstrong from his loan.

The new head of recruitment from city has started developing targets for the summer window.

We still have room to spend in Jan but we can't make any significant transfers in the realm of over 50 million for a single player obviously

“We tried”

After a year out, and back to the premiership. That will be a treatment loan.

Branthwaite seen as an option at left back according to Boyland.

He actually was great when he played there previously but really poor if that's the only solution that can be found.
It really is insane the lengths the club will go to in refusing to buy fullbacks.

"We don't need fullbacks, we can put a central defender/midfielder/reserve goalkeeper/tea lady in there, it'll be fine"

So you would spend big in Jan on short term success this season.

Which would then have an affect on the summers budget.

I wouldnt do that.

Id like to see sales in January of fringe players and a big transfer window in the summer.
I would buy tactically now to instantly improve our first team which would save the summer window.

We need a left back, right back and defensive midfielder. These positions should not cost the Earth and we can find quality.

I have confidence in Barry but I feel Beto will want out so we'll need a backup or experienced striker

It’s mad isn’t it. Neville, Heitinga, Holgate, Godfrey, O’Brien, Garner.. we have a long history of ‘they can do a job at right back’ rather than cover it sufficiently.

Ill give Pickford a pass on the blunder, since he has been so good.

But the Newcastle match was basically our fullbacks being torched all day, and Tim. With competent fullbacks and a midfielder not named Tim we win that match. Each corner they scored off of came from our FB just getting easily run past, and Tim has basically decided he will never make any effort, no matter what. Midfielder on loan and at least 1 fullback for me this window. Everything else is secondary.

What has happened to us at set pieces? No matter how terrible we have been in recent years, we've been pretty solid against set pieces since Martinez's reign (when I genuinely thought we would concede a goal at every single set piece). We were pretty good at defending set pieces during Moyes' first stint, too, unless my mind is playing tricks on me (entirely possible).
