2025/26 David Moyes

I’ve never minded the two keepers on the bench since it’s gone to larger benches and five subs. If your keeper gets sent off which can happen now quite easily, you’re one injury away from a defender going in goal and you lose the game.

I mean how many times has that happened?
We have 9 players on the bench. We can only make 5 subs. We don't need 7 outfields subs, particularly if one of them is a player that Moyes would on obviously never ever play in any circumstances. There is a random circumstance when a second keeper might be needed double keeper sending off, or double keeper injury or a combination of the two. Very unlikely but it could happen. The only time a random U21 subs would be used is if all of the senior players on the bench injured themselves warming up and the players on the field injured themselves. It isn't happening.

Every manager grates after a period. I remember loving Roberto Martinez at first because he was so positive but it was ultimately all BS. It's best not to listen to interviews. They're an absolute waste of everyone's time.

I know, and I learned that from Moyes. Couldn't stand to hear him anymore even whilst I still supported him generally. I've only ever briefly paid attention to our pressers on a handful of occasions since then.

However direct quotes are still going to be shared here and his talk after Wolves and after Newcastle were just tailor made to drive a lot of fans crazy.

By the way, if you know every manager grates after a period you should be more understanding of why a lot of your fellow fans aren't really enjoying having Moyes around again, even if you are personally very happy.

I’m beginning to think the rebuilding of this club of ours is going to come with growing pains and ups and downs and that perhaps reacting to every result with unbridled confidence and absolute despair depending on the week may not be the best use of emotional energy.

Or Nah.
Totally agree, but. If you’d just bought a house, knowing that the living room windows were smashed, the back door hanging off its hinges and the roof was missing tiles, would you prioritise spending your remaining money on planting a very expensive shrubbery, that might flourish in a couple of years ?

Unless there is recognition of what we need right now, purchases for the future are pretty meaningless.

To have Ndaye and Grealish, but not address the basics of what was actually required to make them effective, is brain dead planning. The answer was never Coleman, Barry, Myko, J o’B, Patterson, or Beto.

Or Dibling. That must have been someone’s ego trip. Hopefully, whoever made those decisions, doesn’t get to make any more.
