January Transfer Window 2026

Obviously….

That’s not the point though.

There’s loads of people calling for a striker in January, but imagine the discussion with the Freidkins.

‘I need another striker’….‘didn’t we just give you 30 mill for one in the summer’?

I just don’t think we get a first team calibre striker in unless Beto is on the way out.

which would still leave us with only two strikers.

they will get us another striker

spending 30 mill on barry or not

Can we please just loan a non-broken right back on January 1st, Everton? Nobody sexy, doesn't need to be a global superstar or a £20m wunderkind, just a right back who can defend and get up the pitch from time to time. I don't think I'm asking too much.
Does he possess the leadership skills and passion of a player like Seamus though? Moyes wants to know

What’s untrue about it?

Last season with Saints was Dibling’s first playing first team football and he was not good. And I say that fully aware of the long list of reasons why he wasn’t good that aren’t his fault, the fact remains he has never played first team football at a reasonable level.

Wait. You've literally typed that "he was not good" and then you've posted it.

This is going to take me a while to shake off...

Then you even doubled down with "the fact remains he has never played first team football at a reasonable level".

If you've not watched the player, just say so. Because these two posts make you look rather foolish.

This will have to be a project for later tonight, although for CF Barry is a name I would have said, and still like. It can be done. Whether it works out remains to be seen, but the idea is right.

Good luck.

Problem is until we utilise what we have in the squad a bit more some pleas will fall on deaf ears.

Quick pacy midfielder? Wait until Rohl is fit

Wide player? You’ve got a 40 mill player sat on the bench there

Striker? We gave you 30 mill in the summer for one, why can’t you use him?

I think we have to target what funds we might be able to get on the defensive areas especially fullbacks and see if we could move Beto or McNeil on to facilitate another two forward players coming in.

The most exciting (if thats the right word) thing for Jan will be sales.

If we can move on a bunch of players then we'll be in a position to upgrade.

Surely Moyes cant have 2 terrible windows in a row.

Sure I saw a post yesterday that he'd missed 3 penalty's in a row now.

Getting too repetitive this bloke

I'm not sure why he's even being linked?

Dribbling a ball down the pitch... I don't know what specific metric you're looking for? he wasnt terrible by any means especially for a 18 year old playing regularly in the premier league although for a very lackluster team
When I said I get all the reasons the last bit of your post is what I meant. There are reasons for his performance that might not be he’s simply not good enough. HOWEVER, last year he wasn’t good enough.

Ffs mate why. The guy played about 11 games for us and looked bang average. Why it This obsession to go back for ex players is mind blowing. Someone like richarlison ( still a no from me) I can understand to a small degree. But a bang average midfielder who played 11 games and is 28 and coming off an ACL would be embarrassing from the club
I thought he was one of if not our best player on the ball.

Was a bit crap off it but complemented Gueye nicely in the middle as the more cultured of the double pivot

Don't think we should get him like, but don't think he was bang average at all

Anyone who thinks we will do major business in January.
Prepare for disappointment.
A loan at most.
We will definitely do more than a loan in Jan, that’s without doubt, if our owners and director of football leave Moyes with Mykolenko/JOB as starting full backs and Beto (worst striker since Niasee) and Barry (completely unproven) then it would be a dereliction of duty.

Too many people are looking at Dibling’s performances from the standpoint of he’s really young and the team he was in was really bad and not from the standpoint of is Dibling actually any good? Independent of all the qualifiers he didn’t perform any better than someone like Nathan Broadhead, who is never a PL player, or Sulemana in his own Saints team, who was sold for a fraction of the price.

Again I am not trying to write him off or even say that last year was all his fault or say that there weren’t real reasons to sign him or say that anyone who believes the flashes is going to be wrong about his outlook. But his level of play in the 24/25 PL season was not up to standard. That’s just the reality as I see it.

We did nothing last January and we were probably in worse situation
We had the same full back options in summer. What did we do.
I will predict no permanent signing in January.

I'm assuming it's likely that we'll try to sign Ake from city again , we were heavily linked last time from credible sources , he hasn't been featuring a lot this season either. He's able to play multiple positions such as cb, FB and in the midfield, id prefer a loan
