Last season with Saints was Dibling’s first playing first team football and he was not good. And I say that fully aware of the long list of reasons why he wasn’t good that aren’t his fault, the fact remains he has never played first team football at a reasonable level.

We've had these conversations before, you might feel Dibling is overrated but to posit he wasn't good at all last season, is just unhinged hyperbole

Problem is until we utilise what we have in the squad a bit more some pleas will fall on deaf ears.

Quick pacy midfielder? Wait until Rohl is fit

Wide player? You’ve got a 40 mill player sat on the bench there

Striker? We gave you 30 mill in the summer for one, why can’t you use him?

I think we have to target what funds we might be able to get on the defensive areas especially fullbacks and see if we could move Beto or McNeil on to facilitate another two forward players coming in.

There’s loads of people calling for a striker in January, but imagine the discussion with the Freidkins.

‘I need another striker’….‘didn’t we just give you 30 mill for one in the summer’?

I just don’t think we get a first team calibre striker in unless Beto is on the way out.

Can we please just loan a non-broken right back on January 1st, Everton? Nobody sexy, doesn't need to be a global superstar or a £20m wunderkind, just a right back who can defend and get up the pitch from time to time. I don't think I'm asking too much.
