2025/26 David Moyes

They're off form away from home, and we're on form at home, no one expected a 4-1 defeat, but to not think that game was going to be rough is mental. Their XI is far superior to ours.

I wrote this immediately after the United game and no one disagreed with me:

I thought it would be tough but thought we might get a 1-1 draw or something. Losing 4-1 was extremely bad and our lack of intensity and physicality in the game was pretty worrying.

Dyche ‘they’re a good team it’s a difficult place to go’ - GOT reaction: this fella is making excuses already, money isn’t a factor, it’s his job to get results, no excuses Sean, he’s turning them into prime Real Madrid, nil satis is dead.

Moyes ‘they’re a good team it’s a difficult place to go’ - GOT reaction: well he’s not wrong is he.

My reading of it is what’s said in press conferences is pretty irrelevant, always had been, and majority of managers all wheel out the same boring tropes.

The key is player quality. We don’t have enough of it. Give an Everton manager 2 players in each position who are fit available with technique pace and power and then see how they get on. Instead we continually ask managers to out perform what they have and on some days those poor players are going to get it really wrong as we’ve seen under numerous managers. Everton squads are consistently injury prone, missing in key positions, devoid of pace, devoid of quality in key areas at the expense of others.

Berating Dyche for not overachieving the resources he had though then moaning about those same limitations for Moyes is just pure hypocrisy.

Nice one Davey, great idea to single out Barry again, that’s sure to help him.

Need the wingers to start putting the ball in the mixer for the lad, instead of going backwards or inside all the time.

Change the shape/system while gana is banned ffs.

You have to take it in the round: Dyche fulfilled his duty here: his duty being to take a broken club and steer it away from relegation; Moyes' task is different: it's to get a club rejuvenated with cash and a new fantastic stadium to the top half of the table initially at least...currently he's failing to meet that task.

Dyche left us 1 point off the relegation zone and had to be sacked mid season.
