Caught with your pants down Davek![]()
Standard contrary position taken up as usual. Whatever the direction of flow, he'll be the one bumping into everyone else swimming in the opposite direction.

Alternative to right back? I love the man but he's only been able to contribute 20 minute cameos in the few times he's played. He should be absorbed into the coaching staff. It is separate, but that doesn't mean the club dont bask in its positive publicity...which is why they second players to it.
Coleman's case is this:
- he still offers an alternative at RB and can still do that effectively as he's done for Ireland when judiciously played by a clued up manager rather than the clueless manager we have here
- the value he's added compared to the value he's taken away is well in credit, therefore cry-arsing over his financial cost is just...well...for worthless cry-arses and bears no weight
- his role at the club as a man who can integrate new players and act as club captain/ambassador remains priceless
- he is almost certainly going to join the FT coaching staff at some point so the club will retain his expertise and familiarity with the current squad
If you're Friedkin you see that type of package and you know you cant get rid of Coleman.
Pickford said: āI was devastated for Seamie because everyone knows what type of lad he is, everyone knows how hard working he is and he thoroughly deserved his chance (only) to come off injured but then Jakeās straight on and puts in a great shift. Thatās what a team is, donāt dwell on not getting picked, be ready when you get called upon and that's what all the subs did tonight.ā
But what would he know?![]()
BTW, SƩamus now in the top ten for appearances in our 147 year history... he's been great at fooling gullible managers hasn't he.
We need passport control working on this thread. If youāre Irish youāre just not allowed in.
Apology accepted. The point was about the sentimentality Dave. Which is why I specifically mentioned the word sentimental. The clubs progress is more important. I made it pretty clear that it was about the club progressing rather than the rest of the post.
And I bet the Friedkins (who you mentioned in your previous post) will want their playing assets to be effective as players when the cost of them each year is several million. Rather than gifting new contracts to players who barely get on the pitch because they didnāt cost us much to buy 15 years ago.
Am upset that he probably won't have one final decent season with us. Was hoping, when he signed, he would get enough minutes to give us fans a decent goodbye, from the pitch. Alas, it does not seem to be.
A great servant on and off the pitch.
Ndiaye provides significant cover ahead of the RB. NonsenseUnless we get a RB in January we'll see more of Coleman.
He's just played back-to-back games for the RoI and had a reaction to that.
If the manager hands him minutes in the second half of a game when the pace of the PL game ebbs away a bit, that'd be a better way to get more game time from him.
Of course that's not what's happened and so he's hobobled off a couple of times already trying to keep pace with players 15 years younger than himself and operating without hardly any cover from wide players in this team.
It's all about managing an experienced, ageing player more thoughtfully.
The good news is that in the meantime he'll still be an asset off the pitch.
It's all good.![]()
Ndiaye provides significant cover ahead of the RB. Nonsense
Running around a bit doesn't = effective cover: tracking back and taking up a RB position if the RB is caught upfield is what's required.
Ndiaye's shift over to the right has been the cause of problems for anyone who's played at RB this season. Only Garner can get away with it because he's an athletic player.
Well if Colemanās injured and we lose his āsoft powerā we are going to get red cards every game arenāt we?We played all hands to the pumps behind the ball. That necessitated Ndiaye's defensive shift. Do you think we'll be playing with 10 men all season?
