Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

And what would they be ? Pray tell.
Turntable and speakers {which I've not been able to test yet as I'm still waiting on vinyl to arrive) a new PC, new headphones which are brilliant, and Apple Music which I'm also very happy with. Most of my time has been spent getting used to my new PC and downloading apps that I couldn't switch from my old PC because of an outdated windows version.

Ordered the lot through Amazon {which I've never used before} on Wednesday afternoon and the lot had arrived by lunchtime yesterday. Well impressed. Can't wait to try out the turntable`

3 matches today and the cold has got into my bones. Got the chimney swept this week and had the fire set for convenience, thinking October but tonight was the night.

Chimney Sweep was telling me there is a shortage in the trade. Despite the modern vogue of log burners, and the enduring appeal of open fires, young people aren’t going into sweeping. He is getting calls from as far away as Wales as there is just no one local.

I told that story to my Mum who described how as kids they had to hold a lit newspaper up the chimney to set the soot alight. Madness even thinking about it now!

Along with some of the "medical remedies of old " it is a wonder we still walk the planet . They were brick chimneys then just big enough for a young boy to climb down as he cleaned it ! Much of life is so much better now but we tend to dwell on the bad things ,which doesn't help at all.

Good morning all on this overcast one here ,I hope all are as well as can be expected and have a lovely relaxing Sunday -by the fire . I am sure I have posted on here but it is law to have a sweep every year or your insurance becomes invalid ,based I think on the amount of wooden houses that are still the most popular new builds .
Disappointed with Moyes team yesterday but they have some players and are going to be hard to stop again this year ,sadly.
I don't see why he plays Beto as Barry has much more to his game including being able to control the ball , we all knew it was impossible to revamp the whole team in one window and they did more than I would have hoped but the selection is the thing they have to master untill Xmas at least .

The difference now in how mental heath is valued and treated with respect now compared to cold dismissal is a major positive. And also of course that we no longer put kids up chimneys šŸ˜€

Looks a great pastime ,how many get run over ?
We have mƶlky ,which is a kind of ten pin bowl except there are 12 pins and we play on grass ,there World championships held every year !

Roads are always closed off to allow an event. Permission never applied for of course, road just commandeered as required.

Never heard of Mƶlky, will look that up.

Well that was all a bit predictable yesterday.

Set up for a draw , get battered in the first half and try to make a game of it 2nd.

Gallant little Everton. TBH I'd rather we attacked from the outset and gave it a proper go. Too much respect shown to the RS. That said WTF was that ref on?

Anyway , glorious here today as we recover from local flooding ( we are fine but a few roads out on the moss are underwater.)

Next week is the same dry , sunny and cold .

Good luck to @anjelikaferrett on her hols ( not jealous at all šŸ˜‚)

Off to the gym this morning for an extra session.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Hello everybody. We have had the most lovely day celebrating Frankie's Christening. The weather changed, it was dry and sunny but a bit chilly - a beautiful autumn day. The church dates back to the 1100s and was stunning. It was just a perfect day full of joy. Here's some pics
Other news - I've packed! 3 weeks on hand luggage. I may regret this 🤣View attachment 326135View attachment 326136View attachment 326139
Beautiful pictures. All of you scrub up well if you don’t mind me saying šŸ˜€
