Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning guys, cold today. Daisy is in the bad books, sick and tired of having to fight her trying to get food off the floor and then not letting go when told too so I just turned around and came home, she has been really bad for it this week. I feel like I'm pulling her off stuff every 2 bloody yards, sick of it.

Walking is supposed to be relaxing and it's far from it with a bloody greedy Beagle.

Have a good one everyone.

Naughty Daisy! I can see her thinking 'but Dad, this three day old, mouldy McDonald's fry is just so delicious!'

I know part of my personality is irritable and stressful but man I could kill some people around here who purposely chuck food out to feed the birds. I'm talking left overs, fried food anything which isn't good for birds anyway. One person, who I am not certain, puts it out in a place that I have to walk past and I get so mad.

It just attracts vermin and like I say, not good for the birds anyway.

In the early seventies I worked woth a lad called Kenny Dummigan and he was a Gers supporter but only because he thought Everton a catholic side ,do you watch the Gers?
I have the same rule of thumb watching them as I do with the RS, if there's a chance they'll drop points, so yeah, every game at the moment.
They've just given their manager backing which in their language translates to they can't afford to sack him.

My sons’ dog found the remains of a takeaway under a hedge, had a hell of a job trying to get him to let go of the bones. We resorted to holding the end of his nose so he couldn’t breathe and had to open his mouth. Not the kindest thing to do but better than chicken bone stuck in his throat.

Yeah Daisy has had a few bones and crunched them, I can't afford the vet, I still need to sort some insurance out. Porch chop bones are the main culprits but chicken bones as well. It's crackers how dirty the streets are for rubbish and discarded food.

As requested photos of our meal tonight ,it was Horse tenderloin, garden peas ,honeyed carrots with dragoon ,blue cheese potatoes and a sauce made with the scrapings from the pan a pepper cream ,lemon juice and pomegranite syrup .View attachment 191903
I’m going to leave the choice of Horse for the minute but what is Dragoon?

I spent my morning in Co. Derry with the kids GAA team that I’m coaching. As it was indoor in a mega arena I thought (stupidly) that I was lucky to be out of the cold but the place peaked at 8 degrees. Frozen.

We won 3 out of our 4 games and all represented the Club impeccably.

I got to meet a Derry GAA icon, Tony Scullion. One of the hardest men to play the sport- All Ireland Winner and has represented Ireland in the compromise rules games v Australia. To his credit, he was a gentleman, very welcoming, full of chat and just a fella loving his job.

Now sat in front of the fire and it’s been a great day.
