Mark Hughes: will he make Xmas?

I've got a feeling that he won't make Christmas. Results are poor, the Brazilians allegedly don't like him, the investors are hands-on types that expect results and speculation is already rising in the media.

So is Hughes on his way out, or is he going to turn it around?

Id think the will let him buy players in January - seeing as he didnt really have much time - and then fire him when the season ends pending on form after January.

I think he'll survive until the summer, the new owners have ridiculous expectations of City and Hughes, as good as a prospect that he is, will suffer as a result.

Think I'm with you on this. But he can buy all the top players he wants but that doesnt mean they can play as a team. At the end of the season if he is sacked Moyes might get a call. Something I wouldnt welcome. We can all judge Hughes after the next transfer window seeing that he has all the money he needs. I think if he could well go cos the way their playing now could see them finish near the bottom.

Hopefully he'll get the chop as they need some continuity as a club. Chopping and changing managers will hold them back, much as it has Spurs and Newcastle.

Most people thought he was making a mistake leaving Blackburn and it could well be the case. If the worst came to the worst and City did make Moyes an offer he couldn't refuse, Sparky would be a good bet to replace him imo

I highly doubt Moyes would be on the shortlist. Most people with alot of money not only want to win - they want huge players who can play attractive football. I could just imagine Moyes buying players like Aguero, Ibrahimovic etc...and playing Hoofball.

i wouldnt imagine that the brazilians will like anything about manchest'o come december/jan.

the only way he'll make christmas for me is if he comes down the chimney with a load of prezzies for the kids.

I think it's a 50/50 proposition to be honest.

He they start to get a on a bit of a run, he could be there all year. But if they continue as they have, then he could be gone.

I don't think he'd have a problem finding another job though if he were to get the sack.

I cant see it, unless he wins a lot more than he loses they are gonna want a big flashy name to buy all the players in January, you can just imagine Aguero saying at a press conference, "I've always wanted to work under Hughes and its a dream come true to sign for City". Thats the problem they are gonna face, you can have all the money in the world, but to attract the top stars uve got to have a TOP manager that they want to work with. Robinho doesnt count cos he was clearly a money hungry whore with his Chelsea love-in, then when City flashed big cash he was off like a rat.

Or maybe they will do a Chelsea and let Hughes run a bit with some cash and then next season when they dont win the league get rid and bring in the A-class man. Cos as much as Hughes is respected in this country hes still a novice in the grand scale of things.

Oh and i cant see Moyes being on the list either, hes not high profile enough.
