Houston Dynamo vs New York Red Bulls

This bit of information below was part of the prematch buildup to the second leg being held in Houston today:

"Houston was 10-1-4 at home this season and has had plenty of success in the playoffs at Robertson Stadium, outscoring opponents 11-2 while going 4-0.

New York, meanwhile, was 1-8-6 on the road during the regular season and is winless in its last six playoff games overall (0-3-3)."

So how does it end up?

3-0 win by NY.

Un-freaking-believable. I'll post the match report once someone has one out.

In our 16 matches at home this season, we lost only ONCE.

NY in their 15 matches on the road this season, they won only ONCE.

Then look at how we've done in the playoffs vs. NY. Not even close.

But the Dynamo planted their feet squarely on the banana skin and then proceeded to muck it up.

Ughhhh.

Even the writer was calling this one of the greatest upsets in the short 13 year history of the MLS.

Sick really.

Thought Houston was going to win the title again. Now I guess I'll pick Chicago.

RSL (Real Salt Lake) caused a mild upset by beating higher seeded Chivas USA.

So instead of packing their bags to come to play Houston in the conference final, they're hosting lower seeded NY for the right to go to the MLS Cup.

I'm confident that no one who knows anything about MLS saw that one coming.

We had 30,000 at the match but it wasn't enough to help our boys on to victory.

Still bummed about it.
