Shirts and shirt pulling

Obviously tugging the shirt is a common tactic in rugby to help get the man to the ground, hence the introduction of the skin tight shirts to counter this tactic.

With so much shirt pulling in football, why do players not use similar kit?

cos they can go down like theyve been 'skinned' and get a free kick/pen and the other guy gets a card,
notice that pulling the hem of a shirt usually results in temp. blindness and much rolling and face holding.

That's true, and there is also the "looking at the hem" that causes the "looker" to immediately fly through the air and land in a pile on the ground, where he will clutch either leg, writhing in agony. It's called Gerrarditus.

Well the replica kit could stay the same, just as those for rugby shirts do

Back in the 70s and 80s players used to wear pretty tight kits. That with the perms and moustaches made them look ever so Village People.

Spurs Kappa kit from a few years back was pretty skin-tight, can't have done them much good 'cos they ditched it.

We should spray them with blue paint before they come out. Mind you getting grabbed by the goulies might not be a good option unless we slap white tar round them so they can be checked for finger prints after the game

I've often thought that the shirts should have velcro seams - one tug and they'd fall apart - ridiculous idea but very funny

I don't consider shirt pulling a big problem in football
