QPR Sack Dowie

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | QPR | QPR part company with boss Dowie

Quote:
QPR have sacked manager Iain Dowie after just 15 games in charge at the west London club.
The 43-year-old former Southampton striker took over from Luigi de Canio in May and leaves the side in ninth place in the Championship.
Dowie won over half his games as Rangers' manager, with eight wins, three draws and only four losses.
Veteran midfielder Gareth Ainsworth has been appointed as caretaker manager until further notice.
A club statement read: "The board of Queens Park Rangers Football Club has terminated the contract of manager Iain Dowie with immediate effect." Previously Dowie had parted company with Charlton in November 2006 after being in charge for only 12 Premiership games.
He was also sacked as Coventry boss in February when the club were hovering above the relegation zone.
Dowie guided QPR to the fourth round of the League Cup where they will face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The R's travel to Reading this weekend with only one win in six league games.

Sounds like he may be a bit of a whopper though - sacked again after such a short time.

I agree. I dont think he's the full bottle of lager. Either that or he's the unluckiest manager around. Didnt he leave Palace cos he wanted to go back up north then joined Charlton? Funny old game football.

Pretty clear that Briatore's ben wanting an Italian in charge since they invested, plus for the kind of cash they've been pumping in, they want some sexy top-class football and Dowie's not really the type to provide that.

Victim of circumstance really, be massive if they can get Mancini to come in though.

Another example of rich owners expecting instant success.

Mind you though, there must be more to this than meets the eye. Is this not the third club Dowie has been binned from after a short term in charge?

I think hes a good coach but i would question his abilty to spot a good player as such his transfer market dealings arent the best.

Has to be said though clubs are luinatics continuously sacking managers, consistency is the only gaurented way to have a chance of succcess.

Although even if it it harsh i suspect that Mr Dowie after being sacked by a few clubs has had his contract payed in full, not bad work if you cqan get it.
