To be even more honest he's been about a million times better this season than I ever expected him to be.

Mind you he's played a shed load more than I expected too.

Can see why roberto mightn't wanted to give garbutt a game today, wouldve been a strong task on your debut to deal with all that. Thought hibbo struggle at times when the pace went at him, but he also had noone covering, was a none entity going forward. Hopefully wont see it to often, but he was steady enough for us to get through it

Yes he cleared the knock downs well when the ball got pumped in to the middle for us, Distan never won a header v carroll but hibbo was on hand to read those situations well - never a left back and only just a right back though!

Actually, he's surprised me this season under Martinez.

He's never going to bomb on like Coleman and Baines, but he played quite a few decent 20 / 25 yard passes to feet today, which isn't something I've seen him do before this season. He's a better player than most of us give him credit for.

They played without a winger on his side the overlapping full back out paced him most times did only ok - liked to have seen garbutt given a go!
