Sitting in the home end for an away game

I'm a Hajduk Split fan and I once sat in the home section of an away match at Dinamo Zagreb. That wasn't terribly fun. I can't imagine if an away fan sat in the north end in Split. Ah, the Balkans.

...I was in he Spurs end (I think its called the Shelf and it was at the side rather than behind the goal) for the famous midweek game in the '85 title run in. Me and a mate just found ourselves in the queue for what some were saying was the decider. Couple of comments stick in my mind - whilst queuing a bunch of Evertonians were marched past by police and a lad near us said "be careful, that lot will nick your pants and you wouldn't know it", and then during the game another said "these are some side".

Never jumped up when we scored, never said a thing just stood and glowed at the Blue Army jumping up and down and the cacophony of noise. Great night never to be forgotten.

Was in the Spurs end behind the goal in the stand which was mainly family seating. Openly cheered for Everton and jumped up when we scored. There were quite a few in there so no problem. Still remember vividly the smile on Andy Gray's face when the ball bounced kindly for him to hit on the half volley. It was only going to end up in one place!!! And as for big Nev's point blank save to prevent the draw.....incredible reflexes.

.....absolutely, we were used to Southall's brilliance but that one from Falcao or Roberts (I think) was up with the best. Let's not forget the twinkle toes Trevor Steven goal that night.

I remember going into Bellfield one Saturday to watch a Lancashire League game and Southall was in for a training session. I'm not exaggerating when I say Mick Lyons was blasting shots at him from 6 yards and he was pushing them away. Incredible, absolutely incredible to watch the relentless repetitive effort.

Was at Anfield 86 - remember there were so many blues in the kop that they overflowed on to the pitch on our side of the kop and had to be moved over onto the right side there were so many. Check out Lineker's celebration on old footage he ran off to the kop and it was going mental with blues!
I was in the kop that game too. Great memories., The blues commandeered it that day

My first ever game was Southampton away 2005. Sat behind the goal with the home fans, very near the Everton fans. James Beattie scored for Everton in the first few minutes. I had a laugh because he was poor for Southampton for the first half of the season. Later Marcus Bent ties it up at the tail end of injury time at the goal I'm sitting right behind. I stand up and let out a little "Woooo". Like others have noted, I was totally envious of the Everton fans going mental just a couple sections over. I got a few dismayed, unhappy looks, but nothing much more than that. Being an American, I could probably be excused for even more.

Yes mate and it was point blank, perhaps the best save I have ever seen.

My best Kop moment was 1978(?) andy king's equaliser 2-2 from 0-2 down iirc. May have been 1 down then 1-1 then 1-2. Truly boss. Easy when 3000 other blues there though. Was in the area where the Blues were thinning out a bit about on line with edge of the penalty area and it was quite mixed and shouted all match no problem . Probably got up a lot of noses but got no stick at all.

I've seen a few people mention on here that they sit in the home end for league games if they can't get a ticket in the away end. What I'm wondering is, how? If Everton go and score after ten seconds, what do you do? I've never even tried it but the very thought leads to scenes of being escorted from the building....!

Bolton away when Heitinga slotted last kick of the game was quite funny watching our lads in the home end getting pulled out of the stadium!

there was a row of about 10 of us at villa once. think we were drawing one - one and possibly Barmby scored a 'winner' we went mad. It was then disallowed. Got a couple of digs to the back, nothing serious. Would have been worth it had we won. More embarrassed than anything.

Depends where it is. 50% of premier league clubs have shocking fans anyway who probably wont even care. I have done it at Hull, Villa and Fulham. 3 points and nobody bat an eyelid

I've done this a few times, most often at Stoke and West Ham. Never had any hassle to speak of - at West Ham I was normally with my dad & brother who both support them; and I grew up in Stafford/live in Stoke now so I sound local enough for no-one to bother too much there.

Definitely agree that you can stand out more when the home team scores!
