Mirror Football's coverage of Everton - a conversation with a top Mirror journo

It is all nonsense as someone suggested, but unfortunately it shapes images and perceptions of football clubs, because nearly 3m people buy the Mirror on a daily basis.

Everton are desperately trying to change their image and perception. They sign up all their best players to lengthy deals and smash their transfer record, yet the Mirror still focuses on another club, making disparaging remarks, denigrating Everton and even worse, questioning the player and his attitude. Did anyone hear one single thing about this supposed 'bad attitude' that Lukaku has, at Everton last season? Because I didn't.

Mourinho is a bad, bad tit, and the Mirror is just as bad. They cannot bring themselves to write a positive Everton story because they have been wrong at every single turn this year - Baines, Coleman, Barry, Barkley, Lukaku. Hell, even as late as this morning, Lipton was still talking about Everton not being able to afford Lukaku and how we 'might get him on loan'. The guy is a biased hack. No time for him at all after this saga.

Bang on. Crazy how he can write about us when (as you conclusively proved earlier) he doesn't have the requisite knowledge his position demands. Pfft joke!

You know what guys, I don't give a flying f*** what Lipton, the Mirror or any other lazy hack/red top paper writes about us. We are Everton and we are now a force in English football to be reckoned with. Watch us go now lads.

COYBB!!!

The more the press and Mourinho bitching and moan the more likely Lukaku slots a few against Chelsea at Goodison!

Who cares now he's here and he'll be dynamite for us.

He made the 30m claim the day before didn't he?

The demands yes. But the latest article (there's been two one at 6:30 another four hours later)

He's been editing it as its gone along. Spinning it back to the original agenda he had yesterday.

Agree he's gone with the flow later on but his initial claims look pretty accurate to me in terms of how things actually transpired in this case. Not defending him as a person btw as he comes across as a tit tbh.

Something very odd going on there. Everyone can see it. @ijjysmith jumped on it immediately.

Just funny that in American media its nothing more than pictures of Rom hugging Bobby and Everton's record spend while the trash London-centric journalism in this country prints this garbage.

EDIT: Rubbish for those of you unfortunately stuck with it.

Thanks mate it's good to know we're at least getting a fair crack of the whip somewhere in the world :D

Still find it mad that only a few days after Baines signed a new deal they were saying he had a deal in place with United.

The Mirror's a useless paper and their Twitter is just clickbait.
