Did he though? Or is he just standing in an offside position and a champion beut has just gifted him? There was no danger there, I'd bet strikers stand in a similar position for goal kicks every game, they just don't get presented things like that. I'm not denying Suarez is fantastic as both finishes were top class but for me this is simply an absolute calamity from Gerrard.

It was a mistake by Gerrard again, not content with stoping Big red win the league again, he stops us winning the world cup.

In all seriousness, Saurez was onside when the keeper kicked it. He darted one way then towards our goal, and considering he was operated on a few weeks ago you have to say that's impressive.

Still hope he breaks down in tears the next game.

i think the criticism for hodgson is a tad harsh - he's made a few mistakes with selections, but he doesn't have a wealth of talent to pick from imo and he did give some youngsters chances and showed the way to the future.

england should stick with him tbh, rooney's the only world class player in the whole squad, and you were drawn against two teams ranked in the top 10 in the world (even if the rankings are tosh, italy and maybe uruguay are in that correct bracket).

i think hodgson has showed that he's willing to trust youth and hasn't picked certain players like terry, cole and lampard based on past reputations. he won't be shy to bin off the old guard after this and build again for next WC with players like barkley, sterling, stones and AOC.

i doubt any other manager would have been bold enough to pick stones as a standby option.
