#EFC midfielder @junior1992j has joined Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset on loan for the remainder of the season

Doubt we'll see him again

Had a mare of a start in Norway:-

It has certainly not been the best of times for Francisco Junior since he arrived at Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset this month.

The Portuguese Under-21 international and former Manchester City trainee is a highly thought of player - although with Everton he has still only ever made one very uninspiring appearance against Leeds United in a League Cup defeat.

He went out on loan at the start of the season to Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem - but he was not receiving the sufficient game-time, and came back to Merseyside in January.

And now he has linked up with the Norwegian champions on their pre-season campaign - as he looks set to make his way into the team for the start of the season.

But it has been bad so far.

Firstly they were defeated by CSKA Moscow 3-0 - before an injury ravaged and ill-ridden side were hammered 15-0 by Lokomotiv Moscow the next day.

For Junior though it got worse on Friday - as he managed to get sent off in a pre-season friendly.

His rash challenge on Yuri Movsisyan caused a clash between the pair - which saw both red-carded in the Marbella-based friendly in the 86th minute.

Godset however put up more of a fight in this one - losing 3-2 - but their title defence looks ominous.

After winning their first five pre-season friendlies, scoring 15 goals in the process - they have lost their previous five, conceding 26 in the process.

Anybody catch any of the loanees at the weekend?
How are they getting on? Saw some of them were back to play with the u21s and obviously Garbutts been recalled.
Its a pity McAleny didnt have the chance to get a few.minutes from the bench. He will be ousted by the returning injured players now.
Just in case you didn't catch it elsewhere, thought you might be interested that he scored the winning goal in the u21s game tonight, apparently was a cracker.

Very pleased for the lad, very fast recovery from anasty injury.
