Future is very bright. Not all of these lads are gonna make it.

It'll be tough for Garbutt to break through, what with Oviedo and Baines both being excellent left backs, but he has a real opportunity to seize here. Go and impress the boss in training, and hopefully he'll get some game time. It's nice to know that when we are down to our bare bones, we can just pick a player from any position to come back. I love what Martinez is doing, not that Moyes never mind, but i just feel he's got all the young lads fired up, and telling them they have a chance. By all accounts, i've heard nothing but good things about Browning, Garbutt and Lundstram since they've been out. We have McAleny who is arguably one the best out of the bunch coming back from injury, and Martinez has been quoted as saying he's got a great chance of making it. Other less experienced lads like Pennington, Hope and Long are all getting rave reviews as well.

Good time to be a blue i reckon.

Good experience for the young lads - no point hanging around playing in the U21 thing...let them get out and experience some competitive games.

Anybody catch any of the loanees at the weekend?

How are they getting on? Saw some of them were back to play with the u21s and obviously Garbutts been recalled.

Its a pity McAleny didnt have the chance to get a few.minutes from the bench. He will be ousted by the returning injured players now.

Francisco Junior has joined Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old Everton midfielder had been on loan with Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands this term but has now switched clubs for the remainder of the 2013/14 campaign.

His loan with Vitesse Arnhem had been due to expire in June but it has been cancelled in order for him to move to the Norwegian club ahead of their new season, which gets underway in March.

Vitesse are currently fourth in the Dutch top flight. Francisco's first team opportunities at Vitesse have been restricted to a handful of substitute appearances.

The Portuguese Under-21 international's loan will keep him with Stromsgodset until July 15, when he will return to Merseyside ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

Stromsgodset are the reigning Norwegian champions, having secured only the second title in their history during the 2013 season.

Mo Allach, technical director at Vitesse, said: "Santos has played, but hasn’t made it into the starting eleven. In accordance with Everton, we decided a loan to Stromsgodset is the best step for everybody."

Interesting that he joined Vitesse Arnhem on loan and didn't get a game with them either.

Will be interesting to see what happens. He's got more than 2 years left on his Everton contract, expires July 2016.
