I wonder if he regrets his move now, as he needs to be playing to make the World Cup if we qualify.. Such a shame he left us, as he would have fitted in so well in this current team. I can see Barclay and Rodwell bossing the England midfield for years to come.

Jack is a good lad but he is not going to get into that City midfield with all the quality they possess. Might not have been the worst idea if we/Moyes had perservered with him in his original position of centre half instead of ditching that plan because of one poor performance in a pre season friendly. In fairness he was playing really well in midfield around the time of his wrongful sending off in the derby. Needs to move on and properly start his career even if it means playing for a struggler. Re what we got for him - Dick Turpin wore a mask.

The only area Jack bosses these days is the physio's room, as he's got chocolate hamstrings. He was never all that anyway, his positional sense was awful at times.

He's going to struggle isn't he? Seems to have a terrible fitness record, whilst City signed a £30m player in his position in the summer. He's not going to dislodge either Fernandinho or Toure you wouldn't imagine so he'll be first rotation when he's fit. Hardly ideal for a young player looking to fulfill his potential.

I like Rodwell. And I think a Jack Rodwell under Martinez would be very different.

He may have even saved us spending money on McCarthy.......BUT I LOVE McCARTHY !

Never convinced by him, tidy and methodical like umpteen others but lacked drive for such a physical specimen with clearly a basic flaw in his fitness somewhere.

You may have a point about the present Everton set up; any young player with some ability is better off here under RM - certainly the present Utd regime won't attract as many ditto City with their buy, buy, buy policy.

Worst thing for any young player is to not get the games they need, and I'm afraid that fate has befallen Rodwell.

Some players make it and fulfill their early promise, but many don't, and everything we've seen points us to the latter for Rodwell. City were prepared to pay for "potential" and "hype" - they really should have been after Fellaini. We did a good piece of business there.

More loans? The only problem with winning the title with a team full of loaners, is that it's hard to get them all back for the reunions!
