Abdoulaye Doucoure has signed a new contract with Everton to extend his stay with the Blues until the end of June 2025.

…I suppose we can point to the fact that our defence is one of the best in the league. If Dyche has the same players available to him next season then we have a real chance of surviving.

Going to be very hard to keep as many clean sheets as last season without Branthwaite. Keane coming in for that Wolves game over Xmas and the backline imploding showed how bad things can quickly get again if next season he's starting five games in a row.

My feeling is deal will be agreed for Onana to leave before June 30th so with other releases that will hopefully satisfy FFP for 24/25.

I think Branthwaite is a player to then try to hold up to the August deadline day. Just to extract the highest fee possible and/or see if a credible takeover can actually materialise. Then there is more potential to keep him another year at least.

Thelwell and Dyche are going to have to play a blinder over the next four months.
