I agree with Pienaar and McGeady, although Kone hasn't done enough in one dead rubber surrounded by kids to convince me he should be starting over Lukaku.

All three should have at least been brought on when two down.

Eto'o > McGeady
Barry > Pienaar

Eto starting with Lukaku does not work full stop (it worked only at Burnley).

Should have started the same team that played against QPR - but putting McGeady on the Right and Baines on the Left, we Garbutt ar Left Back.

We would have more chance scoring from a Garbutt corner than open play.


Last season we Barkley played behind Lukaku and ran at defenders, he created chances for himself and Lukaku - playing him on the right is just pointless.

Kone and McGeady have both shown desire and effort when played, Pienar plays well with Baines and would have been a good balance on the other wing. And after that shambles today they all better start next match or someone else needs to start picking the team

We have been crap in all area in the first half. We were losing 1-0. However, Martinez decided not to utilize the bench immediately nor to change the tactics which does not work.

Why is he leaving the decision to make a substitution until so late in the game? He wasn't going to bring Kone on today until past 80 minutes. He then bottled out of making the substitution, because he realised how stupid it would have looked choosing to finally make a substitution when you are 3-0 down and the game is already lost.

I wouldn't have started Pienaar as don't think he is fit enough but surprised he didn't come in as a sub. Even more surprised nobody came on at all.

This is exactly what's going on.

Imagine if Kone, McGeady and Pienaar all started over Eto, Lukaku and Barry [Poor language removed] would have hit the fan, it's easy to make comments like this after the game has finished.

If we started with a balanced side and the manager made subs when needed things might have been different, but instead he stuck with Plan A, which was a terrible plan and he kept with Plan A for 90 long minutes despite it not working at any point whatsoever at any point in the game.

Its basic management and its worrying that he keeps doing it, trying it once is forgiveable, trying it twice is taking the piss, but when it happens for the 5th time, then some serious questions need to be asked, by somebody.
