I'm positive we've never had a player capped by England while on our books who we never played, that's just insane.

England don't tend to cap players with no first team club experience. We've had youth team players who have gone on to be capped after leaving the club without getting a game here, westcott, gerrard, etc. but not while at the club.

I've read the question 4 times now, and it clearly doesn't state he played for England whilst he was with us.

From what I reckon he's the only English international we've had on our books who we never played. (Apart from the likes of Westcott who left the club at like 14 without making it pro.)
