    Best Central Midfielder?

Something we have lacked in years upon years, it wasnt until the Carsley Gravesen partnership were we started to at least look steady down the middle. Moyes over the years has gradually reinforced the midfield with a few signings and with some coming through the academy...

Just look at our center midfield now; Rodwell, Fellaini, Gibson, Barkley, Osman even Pienaar when he is signed can play here. I'v never felt more confident going into a season than this one and theres still time to improve it. Now we have a top striker which we hav lacked in years the 4-5-1 is and will be put to better use with a quality midfield. If the likes of baines does go its not the end of the world for 16-18m we could get a decent replacement and Adam Johnson. Alot of our goals actually come from the left side of defence, we had a more solid defence when Lescott played there

Rodwell needs a good preseason of matches under his belt and this is his year if he doesnt get injured which Gibson can easily fill in for, Fellaini is just getting better and better with each year and Osman has finally found his confidence and when Pienaar is back they way Osman and Pienaar inter play together is real classy tkae a look at the Sunderland game amongst others....

The problem is Moyes can't play with a two in cm. he always goes three and random hoofing and running and huffing and puffing.

If he makes some bold decisions and gives some players a chance, then yes, I agree with you, that we have a good CM. Barkley won't ever be trusted in a two nor will Rodwell or Fellaini.

That's a shout that you know, we need someone who's going to put the s***s up the opposition, Gibson Rodwell Fellaini etc are all really good players but they don't really intimidate people and 'get in their faces'

There is just as much time left for us to dismantle that midfield as there is to improve on it , that would be my worry .

Reid had the skill and ability, but also had the never say die 'i don't give a sh1t about you' attitude.

The last person with that mentality was Big Dunc, we lack that mentality. Roy Keane had it for United, that is what we need now

If Rodwell had some aggression and if Gibson did it would be great, 2 holding midfielders who'll put the s***s up you, if only

I don't get all the angst about centre midfield you sometimes see! It's a great thing to have the depth we have there, Gibbo, mofro, rodders and the rossmeister! While cahill, Neville and now junior are options! Lundstrum and green also bubbleing under the surface!

Let them all duke it out and earn their places! Can only be a good thing!
Silly Season So Far: Rooney, Fer, Wakaso, Cheryshev, Alcaraz, McCarthy, McManamn, Kone, McGeady, Moses, Tadic, Salvio, Cardozo, Molders.

    Lacking creativity

Good players we have, but lacks some creativity. Osman and Pienar has some creativity but we should have someone like Arteta. We need a creative force at midfield, one right back and a striker, presuming we get Pienaar.

I wasn't having a moan about how many CM we have , just that I hope don't sell of one of them , i.e Fellaini .

I hope we don't have to see Neville or Cahill in their at any point next season .

The interesting thing about our 3 cms is that we have enough players to play a lot of different ways because depending on what midfielders we pick our team looks very different. It tells you a lot about the manager when you have a situation like that. Both what kind of football he wants the team playing, and how often he's willing to change his xi for tactical means, ect.

Reckon Moyes will go with Rodwell, Gibson and Fellaini who are all ball players (as opposed to the Allardyce version of Heitinga, Neville and Cahill) but also are a little lacking in guile and attacking flair (the Wenger version would probably be Osman, Barkley and Junior) Our best team probably involves a mixture, playing one of Gibson and Rodwell and one of Osman or Barkley with Fellaini as the undroppable one

    Yes and no.

With Moutinho, there would never have been a Fellaini.

But clearly if we had moneys.
