anything over 2m for his age is a robbery

If Landon created goals at the same rate he did in his spell here over the course of a season he would be the leading assist maker in the league above David Silva.

£2M IS A ROBBERY. But not at our end.

Jo has no peers. We'll be chanting GET JO ON! well into the next century.

The more I think about this transfer the more I want it to happen...but at the same time the more I think its less likely.

I just dont think we have the dough.

Can't think about resale value on this one. Donovan makes us better, and helps us win games and could potentially help us actually WIN something. LD has PLENTY left in the tank, and he's easily the best he's ever been because his football IQ is world class right now, and his physical skills haven't diminished much, if at all. Maybe he's lost a step of pace, but he's still quicker than most in the EPL, and for us he creates goals like no other.

If Nike helps make this happen, God Bless 'Em.
    I don't get drunk. I get awesome.

I hate that the first thing Everton supporters think about when looking to sign a player is their resale value and not how much better the team is with said player on the field.

    It makes me sick.

    Hmmm....Nike isn't stupid.

Remember, they can't promote him at club and country right now.

and why shouldnt we, we have an aging squad with no money for replacements.
players like distin, neville, cahill, howard, hibbert, osman who will all probably retire here/leave for a minimal amount, you have to think a few years ahead.

Agreed. We can't afford a player who is as good as LD but 24 so it's a moot point anyway.

    I'd double-down with Dempsey too.

Cue deadline day months from now when we've made no signings.

The second part of Landon's interview with FIFA.com, which is basically an Everton love fest:

Another loan in the future but with a much better view of a permanent at the end of it due to his contract at Galaxy running out.

We should have signed him full time three years ago.

Just keep signing him on loan. That will be fine I guess.

If we get Donovan and Dempsey for a combined £5-6m the exposure to the North American market alone will cover the transfer fees. Plus they're not exactly Li Tie and Li Weifeng; they'll do a very good job in the first team.

Sounds perhaps a bit optimistic, I would wager it'd be more £8m-£10m, but I'd like you to be right.

And I don't think there will ever be another Li Weifeng. Ever.

Li Tie was a more than capable player. He played a big part in the season he played until getting injured. Moyes wanted him before any sponsorship deals.

Li Wiefeng was crap like yeah.

I honestly dont think the US thing means anything in the grand scheme of things. We are already well known in the States.

I have every faith that he'll pull on an everton shirt again

Having Dempsey, Howard and Donovan at everton would be a marketing gem for Nike and us.
