Jagielka has had a poor season, so shouldn't be picked, but that could also be said about half of the squad Hodgson has selected.

    MIlner's in there???

It's not a good squad. It used to be that we lacked a decent left winger. Now we lack a decent winger on both sides. I imagine it will be gerrard and barry/parker in the center. Gerrard is not the player he was and the other 2 are slow as hell.

england are going to be dull as hell to watch

I know there has been a ton of sell Jags posts but now that he's healthy he's played quite well the past 2 months. In the last 4-5 games of the season I thought he was playing better than Heitinga. He's no worse than England's 4th best CB, he not a douchebag (maybe that is his problem) and he should be going to the Euros.

Wonder if he might go with only one up top, especially till Rooney returns, with Gerrard and Lampard in midfield again. For me taking Barry/Parker/Milner is a waste of a space that could have been used for another forward...

    Micah Richards > Glen Johnson
    Adam Johnson > Stewart Downing
    Phil Jagielka > Gary Cahill
    Peter Crouch > Andy Carroll
    Joe Cole > Jordan Henderson

What were you smoking woy! It's cool I didn't want to win any games anyway at the euros.

Chelsea win the CL, Spurs demoted to Europa League.
Woy resigns and 'Arry is new England Manager.

And Jags still not in the squad.

The midfield seems very redundant with Gerrard/Lampard/Milner/Barry/Parker. Unless Woy is going to play the coveted 4-6-0 and let them all play until Rooney comes back.......

I mean, Milner and Downing are terrible. Even someone like Lennon would be more useful on the flanks than Downing. I'm no fan of Barry or Parker either, though I understand Parker is a lock.

Carrick would have been a decent pick, think he would do well in the middle with Parker.

im irish and im laughing my arse off at his squad seriously ireland prob going home first plane but in fairness to trapp he picks his best 22 or near enough coleman unlucky to lose out but this england squad smells of playing for 3 draws no creativity and brining carroll besides last few weeks he was a laughing stock this season and to have henderson on standby?????

Downing's season was pretty forgetful but, at least when I watched Liverpool, he looked very dangerous on the wing and has a nice cross. Not much of a finisher though. I think he went with Downing because all the other wingers like to run into the middle and take shots. Downing stays on the wing.

Can't believe Adam Johnson wasn't named though. I would LOVE to pry him away from ManCity, especially if they go after Eden Hazard this summer.

Andy Carroll might have a future with England but Crouchy would be a better target man this summer.

Not sure if Oxlade-Chamberlain is ready for this yet. Johnson or Lennon would be better choices. Maybe Hodson is trying bleed some of his youngins so they'll be ready for 2014.

Lots of injuries are hurting England with Wilshire, Cleverly, and Walker out. Is Micah Richards injured too? Some say he was ruled out due to injury, others are saying he just didn't make the cut.

So who didn't believe me? I got a tip off last night Jags didn't make the squad, turns out the tip off was right.

Tbh who would he be there in place of? Maybe Gary Cahill at a stretch. I'm surprised Rio isn't on the reserve list ahead of him.

Love Jags dont get me wrong but his form wasn't great this season. Hopefully he'll make it for 2014.

This squad will get humped. Johnson? Milner? Defoe? Hopeless. Lennon should be there. Crouch. And how about a surprise like Danny Graham?

I'd sooner have Phil Nev or Hibbert than Johnson!

Jags not getting picked sucks for this reason. If he was bought by Chelsea/Arse/(insert $$$ club ) he'd be chosen and may be even starting without a 2nd thought. Cahill isn't as nearly accomplished as Jags is and Cahill barely got a sniff at the England squad before signing with Chelsea now he's what starting?!

Most of the time money the reason why most players go to bigger clubs but another reason is that in order to be even thought of as a national team player you have to go to one of these clubs. Baines has surpassed Cole and he wont start a match and may not even make the bench. If Baines (one of the few footballers in which money isn't most important thing in the world) decides to stay with Everton then he must know that he won't be taken seriously as a potential England starter After all Shaun Wright Phillips probably got more playing time on England than he did at Chelsea. There is no doubt that if we sold Rodwell to one of those teams last summer, and say he managed to break the starting lineup at Utd for a few Cup matchups, plus stayed healthy then of course he'd be in the mix like Jones and Henderson are now. After all the only difference between Rodwell and those 2 is that I've seen Rodwell play well in a few matches.

If Kenny splashed 20M on "good crosser of the ball" Matthew Etherington instead of Downing then Matty is going to the Euros and the RS would have a) laughably a better player b ) one that has actual stats.
