Jones was in goals for Boro when we beat them 2-1 at Goodison, '09 FA Cup Q/F. He had a bit of a mare with our crossed deliveries that day. Hopefully it will be more of the same in the semi.

Whoever gets the 1st goal wins. We're an excellent squad playing with a lead. We ****e playing from behind and even w/o Reina I don't think we are cracking their defense being down 1-0.

the thing Im worried about is if they start with bellamy and suarez, they could do us on the counter attack.

the problem we have is jelavic and cahill have very little pace, which means the team has to move forward as a unit to supply them both, If we play a high line against suarez and bellamy that could cost us.

Id rather sit back soak up the pressure and then do them on the counter score a goal and then sit back and defend like we did against city.

There's no reason why we shouldn't be the ones bossing midfield and creating all the play. Not saying we shouldn't give them any respect because they always start well against us, but we have to go for it otherwise we will loose.

ye but this season they often have possesion but never do anything with it, we cant play our own game as I mentioned, suarez and bellemy will have a field day if we push up.
you also have to take into account, the amount of pace the wide players will have at wembley, They could start johnson, enrique, bellamy and downing and thats a lot of width to contend with, we cant compete with that, ro the pace they will have upfront, so lets play to our strengths, park the bus, play ugly and then nick a goal on a set piece, or counter attack.

It isnt just a case of they are playing poor lets go down there and batter them from start to finish, strategy and tactics will be crucial here, I would happily settle for a scrappy goal bundled in and a 1-0 win.

You're right but every game against a better team we've had this year we've always been on top or at least even in terms of having the ball and making chances, managing a goal and then park the bus. Spurs have a lot of pace too and city but in both those games before we scored we were playing further up the park and not sitting back. This is the only way we can win, someone mentioned here that we're great at holding on to a lead but awful and getting back into the game when we conceed. If we park the bus from the start we will definitely conceed....as we do at Anfield every single year.
