    Shandy busts Shins shanking scotch

Shandy shanked a bottle of scotch across an illegal scouse drinking den t'other night, requiring stitches in his shin and forcing him from travelling to his native holland to get proper mashed with the lads.

This latest setback has consigned shandy to drinking predominantly in Liverpool pubs, clubs and bars.

it says here that "its a blow for the club", and no blow for Shandy presumably.

    I love him really.

    Get well Andy lad.

I was hoping to see him play tommorrow night as his talent is something we could use with Pienaar away soon and Osman out injured for a while. We need either him to get back into things or Vidarsson to step up.

Vidarsson can play on the wing?

I thought so. We certainly don't have anyone else to play there. If the injury to Osman coincides with Pienaar being away we'll have just Arteta as a recognised wide man unless either VDM or Vidarsson can do a job (or Moyes brings one in during the January window)

In all fairness to the problems with his kid, he had problems before that. Seems whether it be suspensions, domestic problems, self induced problems, burglaries or whatever, the threat of a VDM renaissance is not destined to realise itself.

Shame, as it seems the fans have been incredibly tolerant and have always believed in his talent.

Contrast that to the speed that people got on Beattie and Yakubu's backs.

VDM has played one good game for EFC and still there seems this groundswell of hope.

I have to say, sadly I lost hope a while ago. Hope he's ok in life though, as he seems a likeable lad.

Yes, I'm resigned to him never appearing in an Everton shirt again. The fact remains that we do need someone of his ilk however that can play on either flank because we have very few options in reserve.

What has risen from this story is whilst we may have given up on Andy, Moyes hasn't.

I wonder if this is more a PR/morale move by davey, as he's obviously a well liked member of the team, even if the sight of him on match day with a blue shirt on is as rare as a month of sundays.

He's on the playing staff, presumably earning a decent salary. If Moyes thinks he's fit and of sound mind, you're damn right we should play him. That is unless you guys like fans money being pissed up the wall for him to stay at home watching Jeremy Kyle?

Love it, trouble is he has done nothing in the reserves, the only way he could shine is to cover himself in brasso and walk through a car wash
