I think more objective blues might take a different view mate. I never thought it'd be to your liking.

Quite. Nowt new on the table in terms of where the club is at. How would an interim board help? Everton are not LFC.

Equally quite a good peice by Prentice in the echo yesterday, which kind of describes a lot of the jarg, mistruthes/whoppers, agenda playing and sensationalism posted and seen on here in the past and recently:

The internet has empowered the ordinary football fan like never before – the ability to swap views, air opinions and circulate breaking stories has never been better. But it’s not always a force for good.

The number of conspiracy theories, the profusion of well written but seriously flawed articles masquerading as investigative journalism and the basic mischief-making is staggering.

Websites which are unpoliced and not subject to the legal and journalistic boundaries which govern the printed press have the capability to whip up the masses into, at best, indignation, at worst outright anger.

The latest conspiracy, presented as fact, concerns a £13m loan taken out by Everton from one of their own directors.

The loan came from the Vibrac Corporation based in the British Virgin Islands, which is also a business address used by Robert Earl. Hence some fans putting two and two together and making five.

The facts are far less sinister.

The loan is not a new loan. And Robert Earl, or anybody even remotely connected to him, is not the lender.

It’s a renewal of the same loan Everton have had in place for the past two seasons. The old one is paid back every year and a new one is taken out.

Everton have used a different lender this season because they offer a better rate.

The loan is £14m and is absolutely not an increase in borrowing. Bang goes that conspiracy theory. But there are plenty more.

Obvious to us; not so obvious to a national audience.

We discussed this and dismissed it yesterday mate: http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/th...-in-BVI/page15

Did you read the responses to it on the Echo website? Oh dear. That one went down like a lead balloon. Well done Mr Prentice...again.

Ha ha by we im sure you mean you, quite a good peice tbh. If true and lets face it hes bound by defamation law (as he makes the point) clearly people have been posting whoppers. Its an interesting point in terms of law and breach there of as the former Blue Union have found.

Not when it's written by someone who was pulled up by the Guardian for plagiarism.

I think you need to ask yourself if a breach of law is being made by football club supporters speculating where their club's current humungous loan has come from. You've not reached a point yet where you want Evertonians muzzled from freedom to ask those questions just because you want to continue defending a failed boardroom, surely?

Sad day all round if that's the case.

I surely dont need to torpedeo these guys at all mate, they are doing a terrific job themselves.

In terms of asking questions, really there isnt any real new information - i have gleamed from the whole process. Lets be honest the agenda is more about pressure, then it is info or transparcey.

I dont see how this is defending the board tbh its just crituqing what we have seen is recent weeks - which has done little for me - but lower the dignity of the club and our fans, alert our rivals to our financial woes and big up the vanity of the - what do we want? - something else! - when do want it? - now! crew.

Ladyman's gone off topic there.....no BS about how heroic Bill is trying his best to save the club amongst a sea of billionaire owners. Will our brave propaganda machine now ban the Daily Mail from interview access etc ?
