I've always rated him as a player.I think there is little doubt that he felt he could do better than Wigan and hasn't shown any great commitment in the last season or two.Equally I think that Martinez decided to largely work with the players that wanted to be at the club.
Rodellega has the ability to make a big impact, but ability alone isn't enough and he now has to show that he has enough commitment and drive to prove himself...this applies no matter which club he eventually signs for.

Last year: Vellios scored 3 goals in 13 matches and Rodallega 2 in 23.

What a strange thing to say. At this moment in time Rodallega is better than Vellios. Hes played more games, scored more goals in the premiership. Vellios has hardly played- there is a reason for that- he isnt good enough...yet.

Everyone loves playing championship manager in their heads but I honestly think this is a good signing. Options in attack?! WTF!

I scored 1 and hit the bar once last season from right back playing for my Uni team, does that make me better than Hibbert?

But Vellios is younger and on lower wages and he's ours without us having to spend any money on signing on fees or agents or even adding to our wage bill. If Rodallega can come into our team and boss it then fine but if not, and I don't rate him at all, then why not go with the players we already have rather than bringing in someone solely to have someone in.

The young kids like Vellios are never going to get better unless they get time (and the way Vellios was rewarded for scoring goals by being shoved off into the reserves was disgraceful) and handing off game time to guys like Jimmy McFadden, Anichebe and Rodallega instead hurts us unless they can contribute something that Vellios just isn't capable of. And I don't see it from Hugo. Love for him to prove me wrong but I don't see the advantage of bringing in this guy rather than just using our kids as back up for Jelavic.

If you were a striker and playing at the same level then yes. Obviously comparing two different leagues with different skill levels and judging a defender on goals scored is stupid.

That's why you are MVP. Rodellegabomb was a favourite of mine.

Why about if Moyes doesnt rate Vellios- he sees him every day in training, reserves etc etc. Who are you to make that call??

I dont think any of us are in a position to say that Vellios is better or actually any worse than Rodellega. Thats why David Moyes is a manager and you and me arent.

So we're arguing that Moyes is never wrong, here and all the fans should do is shut up and accept his wisdom?

When did being an Everton fan become a religion again? Also, Victor Anichebe has played more than a hundred games.

We're trying to form a challenging team here, not run a creche. Also Vellios isn't very good at all & imo will never make it in the prem.

You're completely missing the point. Why hasnt Vellios been playing? Why has Moyes been chasing more forwards? Is it because that Vellios isnt good enough?! Or has he been so sick of having no options going forward he wants to have as many options as possible?

I dont know the answers but our manager does. Yes Vic has played games whats your point?
