    Tim Cahill

Just interested in opinions on his performances so far this season?

I think he's done okay, missed some sitters, but is always someone the opposition have to keep an eye on. His game is a little off and he has been playing out of position most of the time. He's playing as central midfielder mostly. When he's playing in the advanced roles, service hasnt been good.

Most people want him dropped though.

Dare I say it, half the player without Arteta in the side?

    No.

We cant always rely on Timmy to save our Bacon.

The other players have to be accountable too.

Personally I think he's been putting the shifts in but that little spark seems missing to me

Not a midfielder. Definitely not a right winger.

Missed a few chances, but everyone will at some point. One of our best players, and a legend, shouldn't be written off.

Not sure I should say what I really think.

I love Cahill, there is not a better header of the ball arriving late in the box in the World.

But something has happened, maybe it's the service, maybe it was Lescott, I don't know - but something is not happening.

    This.

I see him giving 100% and running through brick walls all the time, never gives up.

But we're pinning everything on him to start and do something make us good, which wont happen unless everyone else gives the same effort.

I wouldnt say half the player without Arteta, the entire squad is like that. What he's good at is supporting the lone striker, being a support striker, linking up the midfield to the striker, and getting in the box at the last minute.

He cant do that playing central midfield, on the right wing, or if there's no real creativity from anywhere else.

He has forgot his shooting boots. Missing some sitters for his standard that couldve changed games.

A fair few people are saying he's reached his peak, is over the hill, is a one trick pony, and should be dropped. Very harsh in these troubling times.

He's been played out of position and his performances have suffered.

But where is his best position? I really think he is fairly one dimensional, maybe two, but he's not the sort of player who can fit into any system, but he's also a player that is probably the first one you put in the team sheet.

    He's an enigma.

    He's a second striker.

He's been average, even in his best position. Needs to up his performances really. You could say that about alot of our players though.

I shouldn't even dignify that remark with a comment.

When he is scoring important goals for us he is great and playing well.

When he isn't scoring goals for us he is crap and playing badly.

Thats how it seems to be with Tim. And i'm sure we all love him for the first one.

If he had took some of the good chances he has had recently it would all be the first choice. But he didn't so its mainly the second choice.

I think we've all known exactly what his strenghts are and what he brings to the team so he is always worth having for them. But lately he is having to fill in elsewhere on the pitch so therefor cannot play as effectively, and may well just be going through a bad spell in front of goal. Happens to the best of them.

Once the team as a whole starts to play better than i'm sure he will start to score more and be noticed again. But at the moment he is being asked to be something he is not.

He's been poor lately, hasn't been getting on the ball enough and hasn't been shooting in positions where he normally would. I think he's lost a bit of confidence for some reason, obviously cos we're playing ****e but he's missed some chances too.

The captains armband gets me here.

Osman was lethargic as usual, and got the armband.
Cahill has been the same, but also got the armband.

Neither player has upped their game, nor have they inspired others to do so, yet when Yobo was given the armband, he played great.

It can't be good for morale when players who give 100% are overlooked.
