Martínez is also confident his squad can cope without the defender John Stones, who is sidelined with ankle ligament damage until at least December. “We want to see John reaching that level again. We know John will come back stronger and as a better player going into the second part of the season,” he said.

“But Antolín Alcaraz is working well and so is Tyias Browning, who can play that position. We’ve got another two young players who have been doing really well. I don’t want to lose any players who are doing well but injuries are part of the game.”

I presume one is Galloway, anyone know who the other would be - Pennington?

Garbutt has got to be one. He has not qualified to say another two young centre halves. Galloway the other.

England under 20's drew 1-1 with Turkey yesterday which was enough to win the Four Nations trophy, not bad considering the quality of the opposition (Germany, Holland, Turkey). Unfortunaly Chris Long didn't feature in the final even though he scored a good goal in the Holland game, Aidy Boothroid selected Chuba Akpom the lad from Arsenal that came off the bench to score twice in the same game, Akpom got sent off early in the second half v Turkey which meant defensive substitutions and no game time for Long.

England's man of the match and goal scorer was a lad called Kortney Hause, It was a cracking goal apparently, controlled with his chest and volleyed in with his left peg. I'd not heard of him before so did a Google search to see who he played for and what position, turns out he's a centre half and we were linked with signing him in January from Wycome, he ended up signing for Wolves and is now on loan at Gillingham until Jan. Boothroid was singing his praises after his debut v Germany ""Kortney Hause made his debut and he had an exceptional game. It’s a fantastic experience for him and the rest of the boys to play against such high quality opposition."

When he signed for Wolves Kenny Jacket said "He’s 19 in the summer and has a real good stamp about him and is left-footed, so it will be an interesting one now to see how he develops,” he said. “He’s a big lad – his assets are his strength and his pace – and he’s got the physique of a modern day centre-half, and being left-footed gives you balance all of the time."

We prob signed Galloway instead of this lad but another young left sided CB would give us good options for the future with Stonsey and Browning being right sided players, he will have a year left on his deal at Wolves next summer, so could be a viable option.

...suppose the only issues with Hause is why would a club in Wolves position send a 19 year old out on loan to Gillingham and why is he only making his debut if he's that good. Think he might be in and around Wolves' 1st team if he's a top prospect. Appreciate I might be wrong and he simply needs playing experience.

I dont think him being loaned out is to much of a concern he's about eight months older than Galloway who has ten first team caps for MK Dons in leagues 1 and 2. Also Wolves have just got back into the Championship so maybe they feel that using their senior players is the way to go initially whilst he gets some game time at Gillingham. Just had a look at some of Gillinghams results conceded 6 goals in the two games he missed while way with England and only one in the games either side.
