    Van der Meyde

I don't care if were flooding the site with loads of threads, but special mention to VDM. Great cross for the goal. Perfectly pitched, and picked out Gosling superbly.

Thats the beauty of wingers on the wing.

Was quiet after coming on up until that cross.

But he got the ball, and he crossed in the best ball of the match. He may be lacking pace, but he has the ability still.

Agreed. If theres one thing VDM is good at it's crossing. Superb ball that.

dont agree that he was quiet. I felt that he just didnt get the ball in the right areas. Typical of Moyes tactics really. When VDM got it he proved his worth.

It was refreshing to see a player actually collect the ball on the wing, touch round, and at least try to outpace the opposition down the line. There is nobody other than VDM in the squad who can do that imo, and thats why we need more out-and-out wingers.

Moyes should have more faith in him if he's fit IMO.

That is why we should forgive and forget and hope Moyes gives him a chance. Could give us that little bit extra in taking the ball wide and down the line.

Also I think he was brought on with penalties in mind!

Even though he couldn't get past RS's player on both attempt, that is more to do with his match fitness but he certainly make our intention felt to the RS, and because of this pressure we were able to put them on there back foot again.

Once again it shows we are missing natural winger who could cross a nice ball, and on the first attempt in the right area he was able to find his intended target Gosling, and the young lads shown us what he is capable of once he is settle down in the match, bright future this lad would have.

Which brings is down to Moyes please forgive this man and give him some more playing time to prove his worth, as much as I love Osman but he is no winger!

The only reason we have done pretty well recently is because of Baines and Pienaar combine well on the left to cause problem, think what it would be like if we have someone who could cross on the right as well, it would give Arteta more option when it comes to stringing out our attack.

He looks up for it, hope he gets more match time - good to see him tracking all the way back before he caught Babel's elbow in the face.

Also, just realised that when Babel was coming through the Ajax academy, van der Meyde was there and at his best - probably idolised the man!...

I dont care how much he's pocketed off us, If you old me 3 years ago van der meyde would be a useless waster for 3 years pocketing thousands a week and giving nothing back except a glorious cross/assist in the dying moments of extra time in a derby fa cup tie, I'd say pay him double!!

Andy van der meyde stand up!!

    *applauds*

    Your work is done!
