    FK Krasnodar v Everton

Not too disapointed with this. It was always going to be a difficult game going all that way to Russia, and having so many key players out. So on the face of it, a point is a really good result. Especially considering the outcome of the other game in our group. The first 65 minutes was pretty...
  2. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Liverpool v Everton. 27th Sep at 12.45.

@peteblue We've only had one penalty there since World War 2!
  3. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Liverpool v Everton. 27th Sep at 12.45.

Well it wasn't a classic, by any stretch of the imagination. I didn't think we played our best football today but we certainly defended well, and managed to weather the storm in those frantic opening fifteen minutes and composed ourselves. I'm most annoyed about the fact they were awarded that...
  4. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Liverpool v Everton. 27th Sep at 12.45.

Yeah, but do you think we would be able to sit back and keep it tight for 90 minutes, with the mistakes we've been making recently? I agree that that's the blueprint to win, but I don't think we've got the sort of team to do that now.
  5. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Liverpool v Everton. 27th Sep at 12.45.

There's gonna be a lot of goals, and a lot of suspect defending... So I'm inclined to agree with @Durham Toffee and go for Liverpool 3 - 4 Everton! Because I'm a glass half-full kinda guy, and I never learn ;)
  6. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Derby injury list. both sides.

Yeah if Sturridge plays, he'll score, nailed on. Sterling played 120 minutes mid-week, which will hopefully keep him at bay. And yeah, totally agree about their defence. It is hard to criticise when you've shipped as many goals as us, but when you look at their back four...looks really poor to...
  7. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Derby injury list. both sides.

Yeah, Sturridge is the only one to be worried about. If he misses this game, then we have a massive opportunity.

    Derby injury list. both sides.

Would definintley fancy our chances against that starting 11. Hope you are right!
  9. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Liverpool v Everton. 27th Sep at 12.45.

I know, I know, but we've gotta be due some good fortune sooner or later!
  10. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Liverpool v Everton. 27th Sep at 12.45.

Agreed, if they aint fully fit and ready, then we shouldn't play them. But Coleman playing RB instead of Stones, is a massive difference. Pienaar for McGeady, less so.
  11. Royal-Blue-Mersey

    Liverpool v Everton. 27th Sep at 12.45.

We are definitley long overdue some good fortune in the derby. Long overdue. At the end of the day, we all know how jammy they are, so we are foolish if we get to excited about this fixture. There were several derbies a few seasons back when we were the better team (the FA Cup Semi-Final...

    Next 4 League games

I think the result last night just feels worse because we all wanted to bounce back from the Palace result. But when you make that many changes against a Premier League team, it's unlikely to turn out favourable! We've played some great attacking football so far this season, we've just been...

    The 223rd Merseyside Derby: 27/09/2014

We are low on confidence, so we need to make sure we score first. I would worry if we conceded first, god know what would happen. Really hope that Coleman and Pienaar are back, as this is our best starting 11 in my opinion (excluding Barkley) Howard Coleman Stones Jagielka...

One game at a time. If we were to win on Saturday it would change everything.

Swansea City Vs. Everton - CO Cup 3rd Round - Tuesday 23rd Sept - 19:45 KO

Whilst disappointed, I don't have any complaints with the scoreline last night, Swansea deserved to win fair and square. I was surprised with the amount of changes Martinez made, I thought he'd do a similar thing to what he done on Sunday and just make around 4 changes. Can't blame Martinez for...

Swansea City Vs. Everton - CO Cup 3rd Round - Tuesday 23rd Sept - 19:45 KO

The most important thing is to bounce back and boost moral, so making too many changes isn't an option really. The last thing we want is for the team to be further demoralised going into the derby. Martinez says that Coleman will miss the game, so Stones will have to play RB. I think the back...

Should we break up the Barry - McCarthy partnership?

I don't think the result yesterday had anthing to do with Barry or McCarthy. So I would say no, I wouldn't break up the pairing. Gibson and Besic will gradually get more and more time over the coming weeks, and will have a chance to stake their claim.
  18. Royal-Blue-Mersey

Everton v Crystal Palace. 21st Sep at 16.00.

Terrible result, but not necessarily a terrible performance. Just individual mistakes that cost us, again. We dominated the game (76% possession), and at times played some really good stuff, particulalrly in the first half. But I felt that without Naismith and Mirrallas we couldn't really turn...

    FC Everton v VFL Wolfsburg

Excellent start that, I'm delighed with the result. I agree with what other people have said, we were in total control throughout the game and could definitley have stepped it up a gear or two in necessary. Saying that, I thought we were very fortunate to be 2-0 up at half time, as I thought...

    The 223rd Merseyside Derby: 27/09/2014

I agree, but it would have been remembered differently if we'd have got the 3 points, like we should have done. People wouldn't be able to say we go there and bottle it all the time, if we'd have won that. Plus, how many times have they came out on top when they didn't deserve it? They have a...
