Im playing on fm09 as well the one and only EVERTON, any1 on here play football manager 2009 and would like to discuss your team stories so far. Finding it really addictive game can't put it down.

I'm at the end of my third season, haven't won anything yet but have got to a few finals including the Champions League. Easily finishing in the top 4 but struggling to put in a serious challenge for the title.

The side hasn't changed too much. At the end of the first season I had to sell Baines to get some cash (15mill to City) and brought Rossi (young Italian striker banging in the goals) for about 8 mill and Joe Mattock to replace Baines for about 4 mill.

At the end of the second season Inter came in for Mattock at 11 mill so accepted that and brought Bainsey back for about 8 mill. Result!! Seem to have quite a bit of cash from the champions league to brought Alexis Sanchez for 22 mill - very good and probably just about justifies his helfty price tag. Also signed Diego (Brazilan attacking mid) for 11 mill - but a little lightweight and Lennon for 6 mill who isn't setting the world alight either.

Latest game finished 3rd in first season. Cahill had an absolute stormer, got like 18 league goals (most from corners). Brought in Srna and Zhirkov (my 9.3 staples) at the start of the first season, selling off Lescott to City for 13m and getting rid of all the fringe to get up the dough.

Halfway through second season, brought in Cardozo but otherwise still Everton. In 5th atm but it's early days.

Had a 6/7 year career with Everton but my save got corrupted. Now I'm at FC United on a different save, in July 2018 I'm entering my first season in the Championship No point going on about transfers seeing as you won't know any of them

You're all going to think I'm a geek but I played a 25 year game with Everton, won the league fourteen times including ten in a row, Champions League 7 times I think, loads of FA cups and League Cups, including the quadruple one year. The story of the whole game would mean me going back through the save game and piecing it all together (which I might one day).

The big turning point was signing Gilardino from Fiorentina after finishing in the top 4 in the second season. £16.5m. Was ace for a year and a half then sold him on for £26m to Juve, bought Marouane Chamakh for half the price to replace him. The first time I won the league it was largely due to getting a 32 year-old Owen Hargreaves on a free from Man U, he was the last piece of the jigsaw. Recently I resigned and let the game play out with me 'on holiday' for a year in the hope that my replacement ('Cleber Queiroga,' my former Assistant) would **** my team up and make it interesting again, but no such luck. He won the league by a mile but the board are still considering his position because he went out of everything else early by my standards 8).

Edit: Well that never turned out how looked in the thread................ The AML and AMR are meant to be wide, with the RS playing behind the LS as a CF..Cahill. Moutinho and Fellaini in the middle, with Arteta and Vicente out wide!

Been massively addicted since CM00/01, but never once managed Everton - just can't bring myself to do it.

Or for that matter buy anyone from us unless they've been sold on to someone else first and I rarely turn down offers from us for my best players that I'd instantly refuse if it was any other club chasing them!...

Houston Dynamos at the moment for me - dominating N.America, World Club Championships coming up soon.

Just started a new game. I'm on 2008 so I've got Dzuszuzak or whatever it is, Torje and Banega in. Lulinha is on the way next season! Always get Liverpool first game of the season for some reason. Always seems to go a bit rocky at first, but should be OK.

Also, I never bother managing anyone but Everton. I'm surprised some avoid it! It's funny.
