Whi knows where DM could take us with extra cash. Lets face it, if we didn't have the horrendous injury crisis (that seems to be lingering with MF) to our better players, we'd still be in the hunt for 4th place again. As it stands we will not be far off the euro places in spite of the crisis. DM has shown that he can buy players of high value (Yak, Mo Fro) and find gems in the bargain basement (Peanut, arteta) and still find a young pup to bring on and develop (coleman) and oversee a youth policy bringing through our own young lads (rodders, vaughan). I fail to see where DM is struggling. Comments like 'he's taken us as far as he can' should be left in the alehouse and uttered by knowfeckalls and titface Lawro.
I feel better now.

We may try and look down are noses at teams like stoke, bolton, wolves etc and come out with bullshit like "they dragged us down to their level" that is utter tosh, we play the same way against the top teams as we do aginst the bottom.

Man city and arsenal- we battled hard and played some decent stuff but re watch these games we out worked them, we never outplayed them, as in pass and move.
The only time this season we have sustained good football for any period of time is the first 20 mins against Birmingham.

We have never adressed the winger issue because he wants his players to tuck in and pick up the 2nd ball from the punt.

Its simple direct football that the majority of british managers have in their mindset. football has evolved since the foreign influx and different ideas of how the game should be played, some managers haven't caught up.

If you are happy watching a team battle hard, keep it tight but win the majority of their games. buy your season ticket.
But if you want entertaining pass and move football (not in patches) you will not get that from a david moyes team.

I am not ****ging him off, we have different ideas of how the game should be played. mine differs from his.
i think last season and a little less so this season (with all of our most skilfull players suffereing injuries) our 'football' has improved MASSIVELY from what has gone on since the early 90's. I am proud to say i think we now play football again - following our 'dogs of war' era. IMO Moyes wants skill, craft and good football - but he recognises you need steel as well or you will still fail in the premiership. As Moyes is able to bring more and more skilful players in (as he sells his cheaper signings for massive profits) the football will improve more and more.....
As far as entertaining, skilful football is concerned we are definitely going in the right direction - i just think injuries have hampered it a little this term.

he has done well but whose to say someone else couldn't do better.
Spent a lot of money compared to who? Other teams finishing in the top 5? I think not! he has spent £10-£15m on one player and added a few cheap ones over the last 3/4 years (gems like Jags, Pienaar, Arteta,Chaill etc - a fraction of what they are now worth).- but this has largely been financed by sales.

Relatively speaking he has spent NOTHING. he has been given NOTHING and that is his major strength.

We won't know until we've got money... Until then, David's been exactly what this club needs.

Having said that, matches can be won playing any style IMHO, it just depends on if you can buy the right players to make your particular style effective.

Having said that, I think 95% of Evertonians would like to see us slicing teams up by playing it on the ground and most high balls only coming from crosses into the box. The route 1 sh*te is boring, even if you made it highly effective.

Toure and Lescott cost more than our team minus Fellaini.

Mad that.

I think the fact the team are about to face the best team in the country would have something to do with moyes backing his team. He would know they were down after such a display and result, no need to publicly knock them further. Good management in my opinion

Read something in a quote on one of the other threads about our 11 costing more than L'pools at the w/e. U got a comparison there?
