An influx of money really helped Sparky's career....
Every season in EU is one to celebrate but, with the money comes a greater expectation. Be careful what you wish for. |

Moyes is set in his ways, everton play the game to how he likes it to be played.
his tactics are no different as the likes of megson and alidise. We may try and look down are noses at teams like stoke, bolton, wolves etc and come out with bullshit like "they dragged us down to their level" that is utter tosh, we play the same way against the top teams as we do aginst the bottom. Man city and arsenal- we battled hard and played some decent stuff but re watch these games we out worked them, we never outplayed them, as in pass and move. The only time this season we have sustained good football for any period of time is the first 20 mins against Birmingham. We have never adressed the winger issue because he wants his players to tuck in and pick up the 2nd ball from the punt. Its simple direct football that the majority of british managers have in their mindset. football has evolved since the foreign influx and different ideas of how the game should be played, some managers haven't caught up. If you are happy watching a team battle hard, keep it tight but win the majority of their games. buy your season ticket. But if you want entertaining pass and move football (not in patches) you will not get that from a david moyes team. I am not ****ging him off, we have different ideas of how the game should be played. mine differs from his. Last edited by harry; 08-02-2010 at 10:49 AM.. |

moyes hasn't taken us as far as he can.
but then again i do beleive he also gets things wrong more times than people admit to. id also say our injury crisis has covered up a lot of his tactical inadequeces this season.even with the injurys, i would still expect the team to have done better than we have done with the players available. granted the loss to liverpool was our first loss in 10 games , but in those 10 games theres only 2 matches i thought we played to a high enough standard , they were against arsenal and man city. the arsenal loss on the opening day of the season , burnley loss , benfica romp ,2 derby loses , knocked out of the fa cup at home against brum , mid table after spending millions on a team that done so well last season. face it the season has been embarrassing too often and moyes will have to do much better all round next season otherwise it might be time for someone else to come in with fresh ideas. his only saving graces left this season - a chance of success in the europa league + not getting relegated . |

UKnb,
You're blob on in that DM makes mistakes, who doesn't? He may also lack new ideas at times. Again he isn't on his own there either. He may need to look along the M62 to Taggart and he may find that Taggart has a new no2 every few years to freshen up ideas, bring in new ones and create a new spark. The man in charge should stay the same. We have to learn lessons from the past in that changing managers is not usually the answer. Stability at the top is the key otherwise we are forever blindly chasing the dream. Lets face it, who would you rather have in charge? Big Sam? |

moyes has done wonders for us
but lets be honest he has spent alot of money(that he has raised through sales but has still spent plenty) he hasn't managed to beat a top 4 team away failed to improve the squad during the summer despite knowing he had 4 long term injuries. he has done well but whose to say someone else couldn't do better. |

i said he 'hasn't' taken us as far as he can (ie i think he can move us on to better things), 'but' despite the myth thats surrounds his greatness he is still a normal manager who clearly makes mistakes + despite the excuse of injuries ,clearly still has things to learn. my only negative was ......if he doesnt improve on this season , then a change may be needed eventually........... i think thats a fair comment. |

We've got the squad now.
Moyes just needs to figure out how to use it as he's never had this much quality before. |

I think he has to be more positive and use the individuals strentgths. We need to get an understanding down the right. Donovan should be encouraged to run at the defences more. Pienaar looked out of sorts, maybe the rest may energise him. Hopefully Arteta can fill in for Fellaini with Neville alongside him. Coleman at RB.
That is only my opinion. |

Hearing and reading Moyes post match report totally baffaling was'nt at the same match as me.
When he can't see the teams performance and his own tactical decisions were questable then we do have a problem ![]() |
