Liverpool 1-0 Everton. Saturday 6th February @ 12.45.

Part deux of the scrap for local ripping rights. In part uno, which is widely regarded as this year's 'Jarg Brock Moment', after Neville's tackle on Ronaldo the season before and McFadden's goal against Metalist before that, the real Everton turned up and gave a committed performance that saw us really unlucky to go down to two goal from them. But, like against Wigan today, it's them goals that win it.

We'd been looking at this and combined with our recent improvement and them looking absolute tosh had been having silly little thoughts of a long overdue win at Anfield. Typically they seem to have found a grain of form but still are very much there for the taking you'd think which what the pundits would call a perfect away performance (keep it tight, volley Torres up the arse and slot from a corner).

They're recent woes are well catalogued, as no doubt the resident kopite(s) in your work place have wined their way through their equivalent of the Cuban Special Period when the great superpower of Sky deserted them and left them to fend on their own. In the lowly depths of 7th and 8th place they found a cold unloving place where they don't spawn late winners and lose games whilst looking a bit shit. Or in our terms, a great Walter Smith season.

Starting wise, it's likely to be similar to Wigan except maybe Distin will come back in and replace Senderos. Arteta may return to the bench and make a cameo (there's that daydream) but in the midst of a couple of recent wins it's been a bit frustrating that Pienaar has lost a bit of influence on the game, both him and Cahill need big performances if were to get anything from this game.

With the start of an absolutely horrid month coming up, we have to take that momentum with us if were to come out at the end of it with any season aspirations left.

Get into them blues.

I dont care about the last results. THIS is the one that matters. Win this and we can get the confidence we need to help push us towards a European place.
I want us to win, but i want us to completely outplay the carts. COYB!!!!

If we are going to have a shot at the top four it's a golden chance to get the ball rolling.

They are really shocking and it's their reputation alone that is stopping teams rip them a new one. Hopefully we can show the prem just how weak they are.

0-2 away win.

Easier than we all thought in the end...

For me, the Goodison derby when we played them off the park and lost 2-0 was the turning point in our season. Think about it : since that game we're unbeaten in the league. I've got a really good feeling going into next week's game. I don't think I've ever felt so little fear going into an Anfield derby, and I'm 48 next month. We've got the beating of them in midfield, we're full of confidence and I think we'll be really up for it, and they'll be the ones who are nervous, because Anfield is not the fortress that it once was. 2-0 to the blues.
