He's also been fortunate in that he's started during a great comeback. We had the better of Arsenal, and battered City for at least 45 minutes.
But I still think he'd look good even when we're under pressure. He's not world class, but he is a pro, is quick and apparently quite bright. Top bloke, hope he does well in the World Cup. |

Hopefully we could find a way to get some sort of deal sorted till the end of the season, he's looking pretty good so far.
Needs to build up his fitness though. |

He is a pro.. And for that reason I think he will be back to LA at the start of the MLS season...
I cant imagine how hard it will be for him after seeing what amazing respect and class the Everton fans have.. He will be heart broken im sure.. I do wish he would stay BLUE though ![]() |

It's an interesting situation, to say the least, with MLS around the corner plus the WC this summer.
Dunno really...I'm not going to jump on anything until he's played out all his loan time here and them sum it all up to see whether it's worth it. The initial signs are promising but two games does not justify a purchase, unless we got him for around £5M, which will not happen as just his marketing value to MLS is worth more than that. |

He's looking good but very doubtful we'd get a loan move, which is sound.
Enjoy him while we can and hopefully get someone similar, as Toccy says who is direct, in the transfer window. |

He has been a good fit for us. keep this up and surely he may entertain something in the future if he is willing.

Lets not forget, he has had two goes at cracking Europe and it hasnt happened. He had to head back to MLS and work hard, and now that it looks like he might actually be making it (and in the EPL no less) is he really going to head back to MLS?
If he is a success with us then either we or someone else will be in for him. I cant see him going back to MLS and wondering what might have been. Last edited by tsubaki; 16-01-2010 at 11:03 PM.. |

Let's see how the rest of his loan spell turns out. I also don't see anyone begrudging him for staying in Everton as he's pretty much been there/done that in MLS.
I'd like for us to keep him but: 1) We don't have much money. 2) I'm guessing there's a chance someone else would outbid us. 3) MLS may not want to sell him. However: 1) Kenwright might be able to come up with the money 2) We may get outbid but he would probably want to stay with us. 3) MLS may not have a choice if there's a sell on clause and if Landon wants them to cash in. Right now, if I were to put odds on it, I'd say that there's about a 60% chance of his deal becoming permanent. That might be a bit generous but it is what it is. |
